Naked or case?

Using protection?

Hm. In that case, a silicone case might be best--save for that I imagine that it's a bitch to put it into and take it out of pockets, due to the texture. I can't think of much else, unless there's a light-weight hard shell available eventually.

I'm going to use a leather Blackberry like pouch. They seem to be professional and practical providing good coverage and easy access.

Anyone else gonna do this? or have used the Blackberry pouch?

I've used a Blackberry pouch before and I didn't like it. To bulky and it doesn't provide protection once the device is removed. But as with anything, YMMV.

well, i have a BB belt holster that i use now for my palm pre (w/ the sprint case on it that make it the size of the iPhone but thicker) and I will say that it is the better holster style case i have used, but like previously stated, no protection once removed to use the phone (unless you have a thin case on it)

Clear protective overlay by Bodyguardz to protect the phone but not impact looks for hands-on use. Leather case for travel and storage - probably something Evo particular or HD2-compatible since there are a few types out there.

Hoping for something luxurious from Sena or other maker though.

Have this setup for my iPod Touch 2G and want the same thing for my Evo.

probably get a nice case... i prefer something like a leather case that can be found on ebay by a seller called EaseCase. they are pretty famous around other forums for their quality. they make the case to fit perfectly and is hand done for all cases. they also do customizing...

another possiblity is if someone makes a carbon fiber hardcase. i always thought those carbon weaved cases for iphone is cool

Well...my most current thoughts on this are....to probably get a Seidio Innocase 2....when they become available. Otherwise....I've done my research and the screen protectors that look to ME....most promising are in this order....

1. Steinheil Crystal...or Anti-fingerprint
2. Boxwave
3. Ghost Armor

As I said before...not sure which thread...that I wrote to Steinheil...and they didn't have any current plans to have one for the EVO...but I'm sure this can change. In fact....just saw today that they now have one available for the Incredible.

I also checked on Boxwave...and didn't see one from them either...so I will probably buy from Ghost Armor.

I'm thinking I will probably hate using a case...but I'm also worried just enough that I will probably give it a shot. The Otterbox looks cool...but I'm now thinking the Seidio is just a better chance of being what I want....more close to the original feel.

I think Steinheil and Boxwave will come out with something for the EVO...but I may not even bother with them if I like the Ghost Armor well enough. Can't say we didn't ask...as I know of at least one other forum member that wrote to Steinheil. Now when the phone is first released is their best chance for sales! Oh well.

I'm definitely reading this thread with great interest...we're getting closer! :D

Okay if I'm the only one don't yell at me! lol

I go through phones with the warranty and such. Maybe its the crappy Touch Pro I've had, but I hate buying a screen protector, etc. then have to take the phone in and get a new one. I keep the same model but not the same phone long. For work I'm in the field and they get pretty beaten up.

I'll probably be using those invisible shields (ZAGG) or something similar, along with a leather holster for transporting it.

Check out my post last page post #96 about Steinheil

I would be choosing a leather case that would allow me to put it in the case with the wired headsets still connected. I'd rather go to a store and test it out first before buying it.

AWESOME....thank you! It's more than they told me! :) I might just go naked for a bit then...and get a nice lens cloth at first...and perhaps the Innocase if it becomes available. So now I'm down to just buying a 16GB microSD card. Really...thank you...because I'm convinced...without ever having owned one...that these are great screen protectors.

Yeah, the Crystal protector looks pretty cool. The anti-fingerprint one not so much

I've read good about both....and it sounds like the anti fingerprint works exactly as named...but I'm with you...I want clarity and the crystal sounds like the way to go....especially since it supposedly hides fingerprints very well too. Thanks again!

I'm just hoping for a Case Mate Barely There or a Seidio Snap to be out shortly after release. I have had Innocase or Innocase II on my last 2 phones however I think with the EVO it may make it feel too big......probably why Seidio isn't making one for the HD2.

Thanks...I will check those out. I thought the Innocase 2 was pretty streamlined....but without ever owning one it's a shot in the dark.

Edit: I just checked both the Barely There and Snap....and liked both of them. I think this is just what I'm looking for to start with...especially since they are inexpensive. From watching the video's of both products for the iPhone...I would say the Case Mate looks more appealing....because it has a softer looking material that I would guess might feel better to the touch. Both cases make it easy to just pop on or off as the mood suits you which I think is cool. I assume the thing to guard against the most with regard to drops would be the corners and the screen. It looks like both would do a pretty good job in this respect. Once again....I think I would give the nod to the Case Mate...because the softer material might help absorb more shock in the event of a drop. But all this is speculation.

Now...the big question is...will they make these products for the EVO?

No you're right...the Innocase II is extremely streamlined. I have it on my 8900 and it really doesn't add much to the phone. It's actually pretty thin for a hard case.

The full device clear shield from www.fullbodyfilms.com are insanely nice. I just hope they make them for the Evo. I've had one on my iPod Touch 2g since day one and my family and friends using other products have all switched to this brand. I have a Zagg on my phone - no comparison on clarity and durability is same with lifetime replacement if necessary.

Speck, Sena, and Incipio all make thin, durable device cases so I'm looking forward to what they come up with for the Evo.

Okay...well I will have to marinate on this a bit. I just went to Seidio online chat and asked about the Snap....and the CSR told me they didn't have a product list for the EVO 4G yet. So...just have to wait! :)

I got an email today stating that my Clarivue Ultra-Clear screen protector has shipped. It was on backorder before. 5 to 10 business days it should be here :)
