Root New .591 Gingerbread (Gingerblur) leak

Alright, sorry for the noob question but do I need to go back to 2.2 before I update to this new leak? Or can I install it over the leak I already have?

I'm sure this has been answered but if I use the GB_2.3.3_4.5.591_Deodexed file, do I still have to use the Gingerbreak.apk file?

You will have to use Gingerbreak before you can even use the deodex file because you will loose root when going to v4.5.591.

If you install the fully deodexed v4.5.591, you won't need the deodex file.

You need to have tbh to run the latest totally deodexed leak, though. :)

The version that is completely deodexed is in the link, there are 3 versions there:

Deodexed Apps & Odexed Framework

Full Deodexed Version

Full Odexed Version

I've installed the full deodexed version and changed the pull down notification background, that's located in the framework, using Ninjamorph so it's definitely deodexed.

I think he's asking if the newest leak is in the download and it is, there are 3 different versions through the link one of which is the fully deodexed .591 leak.

Seems like he's asking if the TBH app is required.......not clear enough for me :p

Just install it, it's like any other apk.

Are you saying to just put it in the SD card like any other .APK, or does it have to go onto the device? If it does have to go to the device, how is that done?

Edit: just went ahead and installed from the SD card, seems to have worked, just waiting for reboot to finish to confirm it worked.

2nd edit: perfect! worked first try and I'm getting superuser permissions granted to all my root apps. Good job, XDA guys

For those for upgraded to 591, notice any download speed boost? I'm currently on 588 and the download speed is really slow. It is definitely isolated to my phone because my other phones have no issue.

With all the GB leaks, the speed across the board has been faster on mine. IDK for sure about d/l speeds, as I don't spend a lot of time d/l-ing... .591 seems to be more stable than previous, and that should increase speed just by virtue of not having to reboot as often.
Speed is relative, how long do you think it would take a funny car to cover 100 miles, given it is built to only make 1/4 mile spurts with a 75 minute rebuild between those, even though it can get up to speeds well in excess of 300 MPH, it could take longer than an 86 yugo running on 2 cylinders.

Well I figured I'd be the guinea pig and try to install this over the Apex 2.0 alpha 2. It installed without any problems. The only thing I don't like about GB is the extremely long time it takes to boot up.

Did you lose root when doing this and have to use gingerbreak to get back?

Yes, Gingerbreak took about 15 seconds to root and then the normal long reboot.

Actually I just did the 'kernal update' from Fab's thread then followed the two step upgrade process for Apex 2.0 Alpha 2 to Alpha 3 and kept root throughout. :) I'm assuming I'm officially on the .591 leak w/ Apex 2.0 now...

Anyone having issues with titanium backup? Trying to do a new back up before going to apex, but it just sits there doing nothing......?
