Root New Android Market

I'm sure most of the developer's will put the new market in their new releases but for the non-once-a-day-flashers, simple and easy:)
 
Looks great! I flashed the zip but shoulda tried the apk first to see if I can tell my nonrooted friends about this. This doesn't require root does it? The apk that is...

Yea, this would be nice to know as my wife has an unrooted Evo and still no updated market:( Glad I'm rooted and can enjoy the goods much earlier than an unrooted Evo:) Thanks developers:D
 
On the other forum they are reporting some usability problems with the new "buggy" market app. So save first... I'm gonna wait.

I have not found any bugs with the new market, only one small issue but I wouldn't call it a bug. When there's an update for an application, the update link doesn't populate right away. Strange, but other than that, i like the new market:D

but it's a system program. If your system folder is read only, will you still be able to install?

android market is renting movies now...that's interesting

most apk can be installed easily by a file manager app like astro or es. majority of them you do not need to be rooted. not sure on the market apk, but i think you can just install it.
 
I installed it on my rooted 2.3.3 evo 2 days ago and have had no problems with it since. Seems to work well without any problems and installed just fine.

I've noticed this as well, but everything else works for me fine as well.
 
no problem for me and the new market, well it did fc once... but meh lol and if anyones that concerned about trying it out, couldnt you just reflash the gapps zip if all goes awry?

You could also reflash the sense rom that you're on and wipe cache and dalvik cache. Reflashing the gapps file would work for AOSP roms

I hadnt even considered sense roms LoL im just so aosp proned, that didnt even occur to me :( nice catch tho homie
