Is it safe to assume that the wireless charging orb for Nexus 4 should work for Nexus 5 and all other future devices that support wireless charging?

I assume the technology is the same/hasn't changed/hasn't improved, so that it would work. However due to the different dimensions of the Nexus 5, it may not fit as nicely.

Well, the s3s gone.

Now just waiting for that report that says sprint won't get it ;)

And in gnex news... After an hour and a half battery is down to 80%

If there is an event that day, wouldn't invites be going out today?
I would guess they'd go out by Wednesday at the latest. With Apple's event tomorrow maybe they're waiting until after that to send out invites? Who knows... Regardless we should have an announcement some time in the next week or so... hopefully. :)

Most companies try to get their announcements in before the media swarms apple. I believe Google in the past has the same.

Doesn't look like that's going to be the case this year

Ya I guess that makes sense that Google doesn't want their invites to get overshadowed by anticipation for new iPads and MBPs. Hopefully soon though, I'm really looking forward to upgrading. Hoping battery life is an improvement from my Nexus 4.

ok.. i'm here. So, it's true that this phone won't be made for vzw, right? Sigh. I have unlimited and my gnex is getting old... they make it impossible to upgrade without losing it. This sickens me.

Afraid so :(

My S4 with AOKP mr2 is working out well, but I am still hungering for the Nexus...I am still debating if it's worth going to shared AT&T w/Nexus5 or riding out the S4 for a while...

I think that's exactly why they aren't offering it.

The other option is Google didn't want them to happen, but the LG rep who I ran into at sprint told me they designed it to be on all carriers

Yeah, based on the fcc doc, Verizon is the only carrier not supported by it hardware wise. Not sure how other carriers are in your area or if you're willing to change for it.

You would think Google would send out invites before Apple's event, but the iPhone 5S is done and over with. This event is just for their tablets. A tablet won't be a daily driver. They do have an event on the 24th and a source was saying it won't hold any devices at that event. I think it's not a bad idea to go with the 28th. I think invites will be shown for tomorrow or the day after the iPad event tomorrow. Google has had an event after Apple announced the 4S I believe.

I was one of the top posters from the Verizon GNex thread and I switched to T-Mobile this past summer. You should consider it Steven!!

They want me off of unlimited in the worst way, don't they. I wonder how many folk have left because of all this.

My final guess is the 28th (for something). I am committing myself to that date for either an announcement or a release. Might be a 28th announcement and Halloween release? Who knows.

All I know is that "28" is the only number that consistently shows up without being debunked yet (like 24 was). Nor do we really have to stretch the clues to make 28 work as we did with the countdown (turn it backwards and maybe its a 5?...I think I see 6 kit kats?)

- This is it (blatant clue to the movie release date of 10/28)
- Everybody Dance Now (28th Street Crew)
- 28 KitKat Android Toys

and also the facebook link to that store naming the 28th as the day it drops. Not really a clue, but just another lead.

Also, as jhawkkw pointed out, it lines up perfectly with last years release.

That's it! No more guessing from me!

Yeah I saw this last night. Sure is interesting. Especially since, as the article notes, the embargo is supposed to end on the 25th...just after the Google event on the 24th. Could the "no hardware" talk be part of the embargo and the media outlets with access actually do know that there will be hardware, they just can't say it?

It is a little odd that Google came out and specifically addressed the fact that this event. "will not reveal any hardware" but has not said much else of late. Why not just let the speculation run rampant?
