I think the real reason to want the X 2.2 update is that it may address some of the issues, such as the low volume, that people are having trouble with. And not so much the new features.

He has a problem with not getting updates right away. Sounds like a complete baby. "Waaaaaaa.. I want my 2.2 now.. waaaaaaaa..."
LMFAOHell, even I believe that 2.2 is already available for the DX but is being delayed, so it doesn't steal some of the thunder away from the D2. With that said, I'm glad it's coming even if it is a few weeks from now. Seeing that Motorola still supports the original Droid which is on its way out of Verizon is a positive in itself if this crybaby wants attention from Motorola a year from now with other updates.

I think they were exaggerating when they spoke about nightmares, but depression isn't too far off. I know that my current situation in regards to a Droid X is definitely causing me plenty of stress. I'm currently stuck with an LG Ally because my dad rushed me into getting it. We're trying to grab a Droid X, but he won't have the money until the 11th. Even when he gets the money, the estimated shipping date, as well as the actual shipping date, will most likely be set at a much later date than it is right now.
I'm sitting here with nothing to do but re-download previously owned PSX ROMs for when I get my Droid, and watch SyFy episodes that I missed the other night. I'm still dyin' ovah here.
Get a job and get a life kid, then you may start to understand what real stress is all about.

Haahahahaha, Seriously with the whinning like little babies! This phone was released and said to get froyo late summer and you guys are here just flat out creeping me out, we want updates, you phone runs fine without it, seriously deal with it! I will come when it will come, and maybe next time you can buy a phone with the latest update.

You don't know me and I'm pretty certain that I don't know you, so saying whether either of us knows, "real," stress or not is moot. My work life is none of your business. I for one see nothing wrong with hanging around the house on a lazy Saturday afternoon, with nothing to do. What I do with my spare time is also none of your business unless I decide to make it so.
I'm not, "crying," and I am most certainly not complaining. I'm only here discussing things and giving my opinion. There isn't any need for any of you to be so rude and obnoxious.
Some keep posting things like, "Oooh stop whining! Such crybabies! Stop complaining!" It's more annoying than those who may actually be whining and you're only contributing even more complaining yourselves.
Please take your trolling, hateful, selves elsewhere. I would rather keep this nice forum clean of disease. Thanks.

If you want to know what I meant when I referred to people who are complaining about, "whiners," read the three posts previous to my most recent. The attitude displayed there is completely uncalled for and unnecessary. We're all debating a topic and discussing it. Things might get heated, but there's never any reason to talk like some people have been.
Others have already stated the, "September is part of Summer," bit, as well as myself, so there's no reason to repeat it a thousandth time. You don't need to make it clear, because it already is clear. We all know it and we all get it. Just because it's still part of Summer, it doesn't mean that people can't still comment on what they think about the situation.
If people want to express their opinions or feelings about Motorola or their decisions, then they can. If anyone wants to express their opinions about those people giving their opinions, then they can. What I am NOT okay with is when someone begins to cross the line and make things personal, especially when it's completely without proper reason or provocation. No one has the right to tell others that they can't express their opinion, so long as that opinion doesn't get out of hand and break a forum rule. People aren't diseased just because they want to express their fair and personal opinion. When I referred to some as, "diseased," I was talking about their horrible attitude toward others.
This isn't off-topic, yet. Some people are just getting off-balance and don't know when they've gone too far with something.
I've already stated my actual opinion on the thread's subject matter, so I won't post here anymore unless someone brings up another good point. If you want to read my opinion you can go back to the previous page(s).

If you spent anytime on the Motorola forums, you would know that Froyo is being delayed for several bug fixes. These bugs showed up after the release of the phone. Some people are unable to access their Exchange servers at the companies they work for. Some(like me) can access them, but receive no notification of new emails. There is also a bug with the GPS not going into sleep mode that is being fixed. Motorola is also working on the low speaker volume. Their is no grand conspiracy to delay Froyo. Just go go supportforums.motorola.com, and check out all the bugs in the Droid X forum, and you will see why it will be out in September, which is late summer. Which is the date Motorola promised it to start with.
^ Motorola hasn't said anything about resolving the speaker issue.. even on the Motorola site. Again, aware of the bugs but that hasn't stopped its release on other platforms which share some of the bugs. It doesn't really matter since we'll have to wait a few weeks anyways.
Ok, so for you to call people diseased isn't a horrible attitude either. Oh the hypocrisy! It's off-topic NOW because talking about THIS has nothing to do with the thread. Learn2read. There's opinion.. then there is the guy who makes baseless claims as Nightwind Hawk did, who I replied to. I wouldn't even be replying to your empty posts had it not been for you to defend some guy who made a baseless claim about "waiting an additional 5 months for updates" who can't make the distinction between announced and released. Again.. whine about info already given before the DX was already released is wasted space, so expect to get your balls busted over for being over-dramatic. But hey, I guess you have to make it about you. LOL

So you are saying they are knowingly releasing a phone Droid 2 even though the OS still has many bugs.I just don't believe it.No company would make their main selling point for a phone to be the first to ship with a buggy operating system.Just is not going to happen no matter what you believe.Also all I see in the support forums are problems with Droid X's running 2.1.I did not see any reference to 2.2 except where it will fix some of the bugs in 2.1.
Agreed, but didn't you get the memo.. the DX is just so special that it will get a complete/finalized 2.2 while the D2 will just have an incomplete OS with some bugs running it for its release. haha

The fact that the description says, "Found this in a bar" leads me to believe he is a tester for 2.2. He's referencing the Apple employee who left a test iPhone 4 at a bar.

Well there are reports out that are stating that the Droids just being shipped have the 2.2 on them and the rest of us have to wait.
Yes, and so what? Gosh is it going to make that much of a difference in your
quality of life, if you have to wait a few more weeks for Froyo?
The phone is great, it will be even greater, but i have other things to worry about
in life other than when is my next software update on my phone!

I got mine last week too, but I would rather be on this side waiting for the update, but have the phone in hand, then on the otherside when they have no idea they will have the phone.
Alright so I am coming from a TP2 that I would have loved to have been half as slick as this is with 2.1 on it, so I am willing to wait for a couple of weeks.
I just received my phone today and it is running 2.1.
