5) 2.1 does not have voice dial over bluetooth
6) bluetooth stack sucks, the quality of the sound is really bad
7) Pause inside a number does not work (using comma inside a number)
Just to add some more reason for the 2.2 upgrade.
None of these can be addressed with Icarus because it is based on the 2.1 code and the bluetooth problems were resolved in the 2.2 code.
 
Just got off the phone with Metro's technical support. First the guy tried explaining to me exactly how Android phones work. After I told him my phone was already rooted and running Icarus, we got down to brass tacks. He told me Huawei or Google has to release the software (carrier blames manufacturer, manufacturer blames carrier) and that no one at Metro knows the exact date of when the upgrade will happen.
 
Google has had 2.2 in the Android Open Source Project repository since June 23, 2010.

Whoever it is, time for someone to step up the game.

That FB thing posted earlier suggests its the carrier's turn now (but none of us can know that).
 
I don't know anything about open source editing, but I might have a friend who could do this, and get everything working! I call him the god of androids... He really is! lol I hope a new update comes out soon, though I am waiting as we speak to get my BNIB ascend delivered to my door!

Assuming Metro didn't just adopt the project, and let it fall through... I would assume that being a large company, that it wouldn't really take them long to produce this... Assuming they have said this since last June... That's quite a long time! WHERE IS OUR UPGRADES?! Don't they realize, all androids need upgrading at some point, or they become obsolete, and we have to put them in a sideshow museum, so people can point and gawk at how horrible it was?! lol I mean, gees!

The extra internal phone storage space alone made it worth the plunge for me. Issac will probably have another update before Cricket does.

Nope, not that. It has a2sd. Apps save to the SD card instead of the phone itself. I have my 16bg SD card partitioned to use 1gb of space just for apps. I'll never use the entire 1gb, but it's there if I ever do download 1000+ apps to my phone.

I am giving it until the end of the month. If we still don't even have an announcement of some sort, I will figure out the Icarus transition and go forward.
