its should be adb at the top of device manager, make sure your phone is plug in usb and make sure the phone is in fastboot mode

take out memory card and try fastboot again. but it should just go to fastboot mode with the card in it, if you pressing vol up and end key that will try to update the phone, but if you press vol down, end key, and tap power, it should only show the white screen, make sure your pressing and holding the right keys.
 
so now that I'm in fastboot mode, I plug in the usb and windows says found new hardware, android adapter, but I don"t know where to find the drivers

click next and see if it installs or not. if not go back and use this method

use winrar to ectract the folder to your desktop. ascend usb drivers.rar

after you extract it open folder and run pc option thanclick uninstall drivers, once that finish click to install drivers, than unplugged from usb than plug it back in.

go back to device manager and click adb and uninstall android 1.0 and than disconnect the phone and plug it back in a go threw the installation wizard if it ask for a folder for the driver, just point it to the ascend usb driver folder that you extracted. windows xp user exp these problem, but its a easy fix.
 
yes, everything is extracted, but still no adb in device manager and the android adapter still will not install, also my computer shows the phone as a cd drive, and the sd card a removeable storage, but when I click on them it says to insert a disc

refresh the list in device manager, unplug and plug it back in adb, or android 1.0
 
Hi i have a problem with my phone! the problem is that when it was on the charger and i was in the middle of a phone call it shut off on me and then started blinking! i have the huawei ascend so anyone who can help me please dont be afraid to comment! i have the 2.2 system and i dont know much more else im new to the android so if u could help that would be much appreciated!
 
ok I can not get rom manager to flash or back up anything since update. to 2.2. I am rooted and allso cant get to the recoverory screen when booting up either. help....
 
I just got my text saying that I can upgrade. My question is my phone is rooted, do I have to unroot to do the upgrade? Also, I don't remember from my last phone but do all my current apps stay on or do i have to download again?

everything will be erase once you flash 2.2 update from metro, you can use titu to backup all system apps+data, also backup your contacts.

I have titu, if i do backup does the app erase then how do i get all the stuff back,

do i need to unroot first?
 
I want to update to 2.2, but before i do i want to make sure it wont mess up the phone...

will the phone still update if i took off the Canvas-Launcher? I accidentaly took it off a while back, while trying to freeze it...So right now im running solely on LauncherPro

Just want to make sure if updating w/o having the stock launcher, mess with the update? or does the update come with its own launcher?
 
Well I guess it doesnt really makea difference now, I cant get to the upgrade page on metro, it keeps saying service unavialble.

I cant even get on the metro page.

Update: The whole MetroPCS site is down. :mad:
 
Yeah, I jut received a text message from metro saying the update was available.

I went to the site, and I'm getting a 500 internal server error.

I wish I had access to the server so I could fix it, being a support technician for a web hosting company... too bad we dont host metropcs.com... haha

EDIT: the main site is back up, but the upgrade page (http://www.metropcs.com/android2-2upgrade) is still throwing a 500 error.

EDIT2: looks like the application pool for metropcs.com needs to be recycled now... stupid rackspace needs to get their $h!+ together. Go Server Intellect!
