I am all for the VZW ad on Sunday night football theory.
But I think we will see a new Rezound ad on SNF.
The only commercials you will see of this phone are going to be from Samsung.

Holy Smokes.......
Everyone should just relax and settle down. The December 8th release date has been in place for at least 4 weeks now so sending letters and stomping your feet on twitter and FB isn't going to change a darn thing.
You guys are looking at the earliest a December 8th release. Yes that's right it could go OVER a few days.
It's a phone. Move on with your lives. It's coming in a few weeks. You've wasted hours and hours of your life on this thread and will never get that time back. Go out and live life and you will see that in the grand scheme of things this is meaningless. Go out and have fun for crying out loud. It will give you a whole new perspective on what is important in life and I can assure you a phone is not even on that list.
Get outta here and live!!!!!!!!![]()
Go to the mall, read a book, go to the book store, work-out, play a video game, watch a movie, make some lunch, go get some lunch, write a love letter to your wife, call your wife and tell her how much you appreciate her then go out and get her a small gift. Tons of things to doOh yeah. I was thinking of the Windsock's tweet. Sorry.
CK, I don't think now's the best time.
Besides, it's gray and freezing in Chicago, and my wife's pulling a double shift today. Nothing else to do.
But on the topic of the 8th, I highly, highly doubt it's been "in place for about 4 weeks now". According to every other source, dates have been changing constantly. Your Apple developers, sorry to say, aren't "in the know". Every date from Oct. 27 through mid-December has been "confirmed" by one source or another.![]()
It may be.
If it were for marketing reasons, similarly they are holding back a date to prevent the phone from hurting sales of other handsets (which I don't believe, BTW).
We were already there - yesterday. Somebody was parked in front of a Verizon store when a Fed Ex truck pulled up. A few minuteds later a UPS truck pulled up.
You needed to be part of the DINC thread. People would sit by their windows getting excited if they heard a vehicle that sounded like a UPS truck. They also would follow truck on their route if they were in their neighborhood thinking they may of not been home and missed their DINC delivery. Others went to the local UPS warehouse attmepting to get their phone prior to loading on the truck.
It was epic.
I wasn't tired of waitingLike you have any room to talk. You were so tired of waiting you went out and got a razr. At least we have made it farther than you![]()
Yeah but there is a BIG difference from your retail management position to what the executives of a major corporation do.
Any Furman fans out there? I am one today.... GOOO Furman (??) errr - Furmans
3 words - Montana Man Box![]()
The only commercials you will see of this phone are going to be from Samsung.
I read a handful of posts of people saying that they can't wait any longer so they're getting a RAZR or Rezound.
Stay strong everyone! This is exactly what Verizon wants us to do... don't give in to your frustrations just yet. Galaxy Nexus will definitely come by mid-December at latest. If you REALLY can't wait that long, best bet is to switch to AT&T or T-Mobile and get the GSM model; that way, it'll show Verizon that they're losing customers. Of course, many of us can't do that for various reasons, so like I said... DON'T GIVE IN.
Galaxy Nexus is what we want and it's what we'll get!
Stay positive![]()
Says the guy who already has his phone!Go to the mall, read a book, go to the book store, work-out, play a video game, watch a movie, make some lunch, go get some lunch, write a love letter to your wife, call your wife and tell her how much you appreciate her then go out and get her a small gift. Tons of things to do![]()
The Apple guys called it Hans. Their date never changed.
I can see you now; siting at your pc in day old clothes, full beard, bloodshot eyes, hair in disarray, tie slung around your collar pounding away at your keys typing draft letters to Verizon lol.
Not worth it brother. I promise you
Now get outta here and relax![]()
I am with you on this. Verizon doesn't care if you have a Galaxy Nexus, a Razr, a Rezound, Iphone, Thunderbolt or any other smart phone. They do nothing but lose money on the sale of any phone no matter which it is. (And most likely judging from independent retailers pricing they still lose money if you buy it at "MSRP" as well)
All they care about is that you have a contract, data package, and as many other features as they can enable on your account.
If you want a Galaxy Nexus, trust me they want you to have a Galaxy Nexus.
I do not buy conspiracy theory junk. "They want to sell more Razrs". Yes they invested money into advertising the Razr, but to them, Razr or GN, it doesn't matter, its all just publicity to get you inside the store.
The "righteous outrage" is fairly amusing considering all Verizon has done at this point is confirm that they will have the phone. They don't "owe" anyone a date, or anything else. If you've been a Verizon customer in the past you already KNOW this is how it works. It's ready when its ready and not a second before. You may or may not get a pre-order, but when you do get an official date, it WILL be on sale ON that date. They are extremely secretive on smart phones and have been for years, its not new, why does anyone suddenly expect some open flowing fount of information to just pour forth from Verizon?
I wan't the phone as much as anyone. Am I bothered by the fact that I can't have my new shiny toy to play with yet? A little. Is it Verizon's "conspiracy" to make me unhappy? Absolutely not.
when does double data promo end? I was counting on that for gnex
Of course it's not a conspiracy, it's just that Verizon has done stupid things in the past, so any statement or lack of statement makes users wary of their true intentions. If they're having software issues with the bloatware, then they should just tweet "we're having software issues with the bloatware". There's no need to be secretive about it, particularly if what you say is true about them not caring about the Razr/Rezound.I wan't the phone as much as anyone. Am I bothered by the fact that I can't have my new shiny toy to play with yet? A little. Is it Verizon's "conspiracy" to make me unhappy? Absolutely not.
I wasn't tired of waitingI passed on the Nexus after the Google event.
Didn't like it.......
Ok gents have a fantastic day!!
In re: 16 gig vs. 32 gig.
The reason P3 (and CZ and PP and others) have (or will have) 16 gig models is they have bought engineering models from their Sammy contact (who again used to work for Moto) that they have known for years.
The word from the Sammy dude is the engineering models are 16 gig, the VZW production models will have 32 gig. Or to quote:
"Wrongengineering units are 16Gb, VZW will only have 32Gb version from what I'm told as of this am. & P3 posted it has USB mass"
And again, any speculation on locked bootloaders or bloatware simply do not know what the "Nexus" name means when it is on an Android phone. It means an unlock(able) bootloader developer phone with a pure Google experience, just like the Motorola A855.
