The salesman that just placed one on hold for me told me that they are allowed to sell them at 12:01 tn, unfortunately they are not open at 12:01 tn

Agreed. I just called the Providence Place store to have one set aside, and was told that tomorrow is NOT the day.

They are getting that money based on the network they provide. Any money spent in the store is just more money in their pockets and money in that particular store owner's pocket. I'm saying that particular store will never see a dime of my money again. There are other stores who have been honest with me and they still have a chance.
 
My Corporate store said they had them in stock on monday, but that they were not allowed to sell them yet. I called again yesterday and they are still claiming no idea when they can sell them.

That's what I was beginning to think. I'm still not 100% on tomorrow even with all these supposed confirmations. But I figure some people just really don't want to give out information for whatever reason. They have no obligation to tell people stock levels, etc until it comes from the upper levels.

And while that pisses me off as someone who is dying to get this phone, I also understand.

As I suspected, the variation is due to management. I imagine there are more than a few stores who set appts for the 9th, but are still quiet for the 15th, because they felt like they got burned by corporate, and won't let it happen again. They are all waiting for that PR to go out.
 
Funny, called 2 stores in San Antonio.
1st says tomorrow is for sure, but we don't have any stock yet.
2nd says they have plenty in stock, but don't know when the launch day will be.

Left my name with the first store and crossing my fingers they get some today!!!!
 
I texted the girl that had setup an appointment for me on the 9th asking
if what I'm hearing on the intent is true. Her answer was " No it is the wrong information".

Then I called the guy I always buy my phone from at vz corporate store and asked him, he said thats what they are saying all over the internet but its not true. I asked any chance of it coming out tomorrow? He answered "no, if it was releasing tomorrow we would know about it"

I feel like calling vz customer service and get a hold of a manager and just vent out.

Btw those stores I contacted are in chicago north side

To stir the pot, but maybe the corporate stores aren't tight lipped. Maybe they do in fact know that the phone isn't releasing tomorrow and the third party places are getting their information from us?

Just a thought.

BAH....lol you and nismo are bringing me up and down on the roller coaster I am going to call the rep in warwick I buy from at 2 i think thats when he gets in I will report back.
 
I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to go like last Friday but on a grander scale. Some stores are going to sell them to anyone that is there. Some stores are going to sell one or two and then stop. Some aren't going to sell any at all and say it's not been released. All in all thousands will end up with them by Friday morning and 10's of thousands will be even more frustrated than before.

Hopefully it will force VZW's hand to issue the full release statement by Thursday night or first thing Friday morning opening the flood gates for everyone to get one. More than likely it will come out to the masses next week on Tuesday or Thursday.

Before Christmas is what I was told as well, with zero other information. That was on Monday though. At this point, despite me trying not to get my hopes up, I'm starting to feel deflated.
 
I called VZW customer service and they noted the $100 upgrade coupon on my file.
What are the chances of my getting this $100 coupon applied if I go into a retail store tomorrow and buy a Gnex?
 
I know its a broken record but if it helps make anyone feel better my store also confirms that they are selling the phone tomorrow. (DFW area)

Getting mad at a store for following policy doesn't make any sense. Yes it's anal and annoying but they technically are just doing their jobs.

I thought you said last night you were never posting again btw? :p
 
Here is my plan of action, Holiday party with co workers,Then do 12 x 8 shift at work. Head strait to the VZW store near my house and be there for the 10 am opening. DO NOT GET IN MY WAY OR SOMEONE WILL BE NEXECUTED!

I called my local Verizon store and they couldn't say anything about whether it will be released or if they have any in stock, I told the nice lady I would see them tomorrow at 9 AM to pick one up and she stuttered and said, "uh ok," lol. However Radioshack said Thursday when I talked to a guy there earlier in the week. Verizon is so screwed up.

If Verizon gets rid of unlimited data when I go to upgrade in 2 years then they won't have any upper hand in keeping me from switching to another carrier after the Nexus.

If this is true, EarlyMon would've been correct on his prediction, just a little early on the execution.
