So is the concensus that everyone is still going to root immediately? I'm considering waiting it out until more devs get their hands on the device. Thoughts?

The CSR saw that it was true in her promos list and gave me the promo. She said it was not regional specific. She did ask where I got the promo code from and I told her from a forum thread.

I said it was an upgrade for 3G to 4G customers, but she said it was the midwest only. I'll try again with what you said. Thanks!

This works for me every single time: Call *611, say cancel my account, you will get a CSR specialized in preventing account cancellation. Tell CSR your situation and why you are considering cancelling your account. If it can be done, it will be given to you.

Well, I'll have to tell that to Jodi at Verizon. I just pre-ordered one from her. It ships tomorrow, but won't arrive until Monday unless I pay one-day shipping...

Think I'm going to do online order @ 1am with overnight shipping. I have to work all day tomorrow and I'm kinda weird about people opening and handling my stuff, especially my brand new nexus :)

I think I'll unlock and root immediately, but I won't be loading any ROMS for a while. ICS looks great.

I just want to be able to take off the search bar at the top and add a search button in among the software buttons on the bottom.

Also, there is a hack someone released that makes the folders on your homescreen square instead of round. I think I'll do that tomorrow, too.

Isn't this exciting!??!!

The biggest problem with this is that when I talked to a rep, he said it was an Iconic Device which means you have to pay now for it. There is no putting it on your wireless account. That could be a problem for some people.

Also when asking him about the $100 rebate, it is only by phone, and it is a $100 card that is mailed to you in like 4-6 weeks. I am thinking I am just going to go into the store tomorrow morning and get it and not worry with the online or telesales crap. Besides if you order it online or on telesales you will probably get it Monday because there is so much holiday shipping traffic right now.... I want it in my hands ASAP!!!!

Here is the full PR on Droid Life. Online at 1am. In stores tomorrow morning. Stores open as scheduled. I see no reason to go online (not for me anyhow).

IT'S FINALLY OFFICIAL!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE MY OWN EYES!

Will post my big post tomorrow morning (before I go to school, because I won't be able to post while I'm at school once the thread closes; assuming it's closing once we pick our Nexi up!)
 
I'm going to stay up and be here/irc for the unveiling online, even though I'm going to pick it up at the store in the morning. :)
