For the fellow asking about the double data rate; the mobilburn pr indicates that verizon sez the phone is eligible for double data rate as a 4g phone.

Alas they do not say when it ends; but that pr implies it will be available tomorrow.
 
Elation. Relief. Weird all it's all just for a phone and stuff/ But it doesn't change how excited I am!

I for one am glad I waited it out, as painfull and as time consuming as this thread has been.

The press release is not published yet (news.verizonwireless.com). This is for tomorrow.
 
abouuuuut time!!! I have been walking around quietly mouthing "darn phone!!" any time I had to do anything on my aging OG Droid for months now! What a welcome relief :D

I think you should be able to call customer service to get it done, just say you want to order online tonight when the release goes live.

Just called and talked to them. She said her supervisor said they can't override the upgrade date especially for 4G phones. I'll call again and try a different approach.

Going to try to get to vzw before work tomorrow. Going to have to get up early *ugh! BUT since I am adding a line and switching the phones they will likely have to set the thing up before I leave the store. :rolleyes:

Problem is? I want to unlock the bootloader and root before doing anything to the phone.

I may order online tonight then go in on my next day off and swap the numbers out then.

Not sure. I don't want my new phone tinkered with by anyone but me

I had a similar event...my rep sent a text JUST before our server went for its dinner break (lol) He invited me to stop by early tomorrow morning to pick up my Nexus. There I was all excited and couldn't share it with my forum family. sigh

The GSM Version has one now I think they're $4 with shipping on ebay. So I bet the US version will have one in a week or two if they're not already available.

The cheap Hong Kong chargers work great also I've had one from my Eris that still is working with my EVO and my Thunderbolt one is still kicking perfectly... The knock off batteries suck thou stay away they work fine for a couple months then they get to the point that they only give you an hour or two on a full charge
 
I can't believe the day is upon us!!! Just thought I would share a little pearl of wisdom with the fine members of the pre-release thread. I know for a fact that when you're checking out in the VZW online store, you have the option to type in a promo code. I have done this in the past when I bought my OG droid and got free overnight shipping. A quick Google search provided the following code: FREEOVERNT
I have not tried this particular code, so I cannot guarantee it works, and if it doesn't I suggest a more thorough search for an active code. Happy shopping!!! :D

I didn't mention this before, but I rented a ReZound, and I returned it. But when I rented it originally, I used the last annual upgrade (Verizon discontinued these). So I should've been able to use that. Keep trying, Mine only moved from 12/28 to the 14, so it was only a couple weeks.

Good Luck. If nothing else, you could try to go into a vzw store tomorrow and ask them to move it up. When they have a commission hanging in the balance they might be more willing to go for it.

I live in Alabama and I pointed out that it is a Christmas discount for upgrading from a 3G phone to a 4G phone and renewing a new every 2 line. The CSR saw that it was true in her promos list and gave me the promo. She said it was not regional specific. She did ask where I got the promo code from and I told her from a forum thread.
