Another long time lurker here finally posting for the first time after the big news. I've been following this thread for two weeks now and I just wanted to say thanks to all of you guys and the mods for making the wait bearable and for the most part enjoyable despite of all the ups and downs with rumored releases, especially last Friday. I've laughed, I cursed, got my hopes up, and then got them down, but all in all it's been fun reading the forum everyday. It feels great to finally have this confirmed and it's like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders! Like many of you I've called stores, talked to reps, tweeted angry messages at @VZWNews, considered canceling service and getting the GSM version, and all of those things. I'm glad the wait is finally over for all of us and wish you all the best of luck tomorrow heading out to the stores! My nearest local store has over 40 to sell tomorrow and I've got an appointment first thing in the morning at 9:00 to pick it up, but I'll do a drive by at 8:00 just to make sure there isn't a line or anything :-)

It's been fun guys and I look forward to getting more into the forums once I get my device and share in the excitement with all of you!

Thanks again for all of the help, info, tips, and the humour! You guys (and gals) are the best!

Working in IT has its perks.

Are you saying you are going to have it shipped to your door when you have 500 verizon corp stores in the chicagoland area that you can go to?

The only twitter people I am still following related to this are britishturbo and droid_life. The others were an end to a means, and their attitudes are not something I care to see in my twitter feed. Ever again.
 
anyone familiar with these releases think corporate stores will actually sell out of phones? we are obviously a vocal minority but dont know how this will translate into real life sales tomorrow. i may not be able to get to the store till after 5

I really want to go get it tomorrow morning (I'm in Denver now and there is VZW like 2 blocks from my loft) but I have such a full day at work tomorrow if I buy it in the morning I'm sure to not get my work done tomorrow so if it's delivered to me at work friday I can stop working and play away .

I don't trust myself but we'll see how I feel around midnight tonight
 
I'm going at lunch to play with the SGN but I doubt I will walk out with one. I still want to wait a bit of real world time and I want to see if I can find it on sale at Amazon. I know it isn't likely, and I might even be screwing myself not to snap up the initial shipment (if there will be any scarcity) but I feel I should wait.


Not that I haven't waited long enough.
 
Well, I've had to inform the 3 stores around me that there was a press release and it's official. It's as if they have no idea what this phone means to the future of humanity! I'll just show up tomorrow morning I guess and stalk them. Hehe.

I know that the Incredible sold out and some stores sold out of the Thunderbolt .

When I got to the Downtown Denver store for the Tbolt 30minutes before they opened there was 5 people in front of me by 5 min till there were another 20 behind me and from what I heard by 11am they were sold out. But other stores had plenty , but that is a high traffic store
