So interesting story about the line this morning. Guy 3rd in line published a book. I remember reading about it. It was him taking pictures of his wife wearing her wedding dress in something like 200 different areas and countries . He also had his chocolate lab with him, who is in the pics as well, and is a real sweetie.

Just thought that was kinda neat.

And Steven, where's your post. But early congrats. We made it brother.
 
Went to the regular bestbuy and was told they had no stock. Shot across to the bestbuy mobile in the mall. Rep there told me they couldn't sell. He hadn't seen the email. He checked and read it after I informed him otherwise. Checked all but one drawer and said he didn't have any. Then he remembered to check the last one. Had 8 if them and we took 3. :)

I was in a hurry to get to my training and this guy was killing me with mistakes. Grabbed the wrong sim (micro) and scanned all the wrong barcodes. I was 15 min late to my training, but the woman taking role had mercy on me. I'll be back next month to refresh.

I get to play with my toy in about 45 min. So exciting!
Still working on my OG until I can unlock the bootloader.

Well, I am a proud owner of a new Galaxy Nexus! I have an extended battery! I have the el-cheapo Verizon screen cover (gonna get Steinheil) and the shiny black silicon cover. I also bought the battery charger. :)

The did not give me the 100 dollar discount at the store, but as the CSR guy told me two days ago, "just charge it to your account and we'll do it over the phone." They did.

Google's downloading my apps now, and is trying to load them onto my homescreen! :O Eh, gotta delete that.

I did! Which one did you pick yours up at?

I picked up at the one on 18th and L and it was nuts. I think there were at least 30 people in line and luckily I was number 10 or so. I was so stoked to get my hands on the phone. I saw the line and started getting nervous that they wouldn't have enough to go around!
 
Well after all the BS from Verizon, even up until this morning with having to wait for SIM cards from a different store, I finally have a GNEX. System update is downloading now.
 
Got it right when my store opened at 9 AM! :D

So far I have completely resisted the temptation to even look at it as I needed to get my Christmas shopping done and do a couple of other errands. I'm just about to start a very early lunch and then I'll take it out of the box, peel off all of that plastic, put my screen protector/case on, unlock the bootloader and get everything set up. I'm even throwing some food in a slow cooker first because I know I'm not going to want to do anything else for the rest of the day.

I got there at about 8:30 and there was nobody waiting outside, but by the time the doors opened there were about 10 people behind me waiting for this phone and the waiting list screen was overflowing by the time I walked out the door. I asked the sales guy if he thought they'd sell out today and he said "We'll see, but I didn't think there would be this many people here this morning. We've kept this phone pretty hush hush."

Anyways, I'm glad I stuck it out with Verizon rather than getting the GSM version and switching to T-Mobile. I've always liked Verizon (particularly FiOS internet after having Comcast and VZW after terrible coverage with AT&T several years back) so hopefully they can get back into my good books with this. Unlimited LTE data is pretty sweet!
 
So... I get there at 5:45 and not a soul in sight. I set up my chair, my cooler, my bag'o'snacks and get out my Galaxy tablet to go check the Android Forums. Not even five minutes in, it starts raining. Alas, I came prepared. I get the umbrella and resume my position. Then it starts doing the Forrest Gump sideways rain shit.. so I abandon my chair and open the hatch to my Jeep. There I sat until about ten to 8, when a guy pulled up beside me and sat in his car. Finally he rolls down the window and we start BSing. In the next hour or so, the crowd starts to gather and they all seem to find amusement in my being there since before 6 AM, lol. I was first in line, so I didn't really mind admitting my hardcore fail. As promised, the doors opened promptly at 9, and I was handed the most gorgeous piece of technology known to man. Love it! I also took them up on their 20% accessories when you buy 3 or more. I don't normally buy VZW accessories, as they usually cost wayyyy more than they are worth, but the gloves intrigued me due to an earlier conversation in the forum. A car charger and some screen protectors rounded out the purchase. Oh, and whoever said there would be an activation fee was just plain wrong. The total (before accessories) without a single discount applied, was $317 and some change. People in here had me believing it was over $360! lol... either way, I'm happy with the price and the product!

All in all, despite some ups and downs, I had a great time and met some awesome single serving friends. I can't wait to spend the rest of the day learning everything I can about my new toy. Thanks to everyone in here who's helped me along the way. I appreciate you all!!!

thats exactly where i got mine!!

i showed up at 8:50 and tehre were like 30 people in line like you said! i probably saw you there!!
 
Alright, time for a slight bummer....I know they will be coming.
I only get 1 bar of 4G in my apartment when my Bionic gets 4 :(
I'll do a speed test later today and see how they pan out.
Also, my prelim phone call to my wife from inside RS was not the best of audio quality (compared to my Droid and Bionic).
So I have any qualms of getting this phone though.
