Guys, bad news across the pond. Amazon UK has pushed their date to december 2nd. When people are emailing amazon about this they are responding say that Samsung has pushed the release to December 2nd. This is not looking good for anyone!

Maybe. Maybe not. LTE is a different animal. Supply problems for GSM may not translate to our situation.

Yeah besides what kind of roller coaster would this be if we only went up all the time?

So true. Euphoria combined with manic lows are what make this so much fun.

Who could leave you!!???! ;) I'm not trying to be dramatic and I'm not leaving the country, just taking a (big) step back for now.

Ok - I know you have a good point. But I figure I'm in it to my eyeballs now so going anywhere will just leave me with a lot to catch up on .

I have said before in this epic thread.....i pray that one day in the near future a wireless carrier gets a network that can really compete with verizon....at that point it will most likely leave verizon with nothing but a gigantic smile on my face.....they irritate the crap out of me with releasing phones and screwing me on my bill and every other thing.....but i know i can't get coverage any where close to theirs anywhere else so for now im stuck....but man thinking of that day is making me excited

I have no choice. Unless I want to switch to alltel and their top of the line phones .

Agreed. I think that with AT&T finally rolling out their LTE markets, with phones either as good as Verizon's or better, and at lower prices, Verizon will either have to stop playing King of the Castle and acknowledge that they need to lower their own prices, or they'll slowly fall in market share.

I think what will end up happening is att will price all their phones at 300 too. Att aren't saints either

This really could be a situation that VZW is supposed to release first, and because of whatever reason VZW is not able to release on whatever was the original date, so therefore the UK release is being pushed back.... Maybe.?.?.?

Compared to Verizon, they might be.

I was wrong about the Skyrocket (basically SGSII with LTE) being $249. It's actually $149, and the reason for that, according to Slashgear:

The new Vivid handset will sell for $99.99 with the Skyrocket selling for $149.99. If you are wondering why the price of the two smartphones was slashed, it was apparently to appease a market that wasn

Well Samsung said it would release in Europe first, but it has never been completely clear if they are differentiating between the GSM and LTE versions. I kind of believe they are on two completely different schedules. That being said, I would be completely shocked if it releases nearly two full weeks sooner in US than in Europe.

Whatever the reason it's a massive balls up if true. Samsung made the official announcement about the GNex on Friday. If they've changed their mind already it's doesn't paint the company in a very good light

They haven't taken the announcement off their site yet News | News from SAMSUNG

So my brother works at a Verizon store as an Asst. Manager. Now, I won't claim he has all the answers, as I know he doesn't, but I did ask him to keep me posted on Nexus news, and he texted me saying that the release was pushed to December. I for when in December but he had no date he could give me :(. [Apparently having a sibling working for a retail store isn't good enough, do I have to sleep with someone at corporate to get some good intel!? Hmm... that actually may get me the phone itself... lol... I digress]

I know what you're thinking, everyone claims to be an insider, lol. I'm not claiming such thing, and I'd say take this message with a grain of salt if you'd like. A December release isn't unfathomable considering all the high-end phones that have become available for Verizon just now. However any release day other than today sucks, lol.

Wow, actually caring about customer opinions. What a novel concept.

Verizon: Customer Opinions? What is that? I know customers, those are the people we screw right? And opinions, that is those things our executives have that drive our business model, and they are excellent. But why would we care about Customer Opinions? They don't drive our business model, our executives do... This makes no sense. Am I on Punk'd?

Whatever happens with the VZW GN, I doubt it will have ANY effect at all on Europe's launch date.

I have already contemplated the moral/social mores of this option.....

Just remember my fellow foaming-at-the-mouth-want-my-nexus-with-ice-cream-sandwich'ers , VZW's release did not state it would be november. They simply stated 'this year'. While is sucks donkey nuggets that we may actually have to wait we can't exactly say they've lied about anything yet.

(Please don't hurt me for reminding us all of this)

Just seems to me that if he knows that it's delayed until Dec he would have to have a little more knowledge surrounding the hold up. Not questioning you or your brother, just wondering if the person that told him this info just read the blog.

All of this speculation is fun. :D

My take...and this is based solely on my opinion and the leaks on the web that I actually do trust/believe (I'm about 95 percent certain that new "graph" that came out earlier this morning from Kellex is a fake)

Verizon would be totally stupid NOT to have this on stores/online for black friday weekend. Biggest shopping 3 day weekend of the entire year. They know this. People want choice....people are going to walk into the Verizon stores on black friday wanting say, the RAZR. If they don't like the RAZR and there was nothing else worthy of a purchase, they are going to walk out. But, if Verizon has the 3 absolute best Android devices on the market, plus the 4S, plus the 4 for people who don't want to spend 300 up front...it is very likely that person will purchase something. I know we all state that Verizon is stupid (they make stupid moves sometimes, marketing wise), but they aren't THAT incompetent. They have an amazing network, and they are number 1 in subscribers for that reason. I think the ONLY thing that would prevent them from having this available for purchase would be either supply issues or some sort of defect with the LTE version of the device (notice I said LTE version...the GSM version overseas probably has nothing to do with our release). I don't believe this is the case, because...

Panda/BMX, a person from Google who has been known to be a very reliable source despite his oddities in releasing info, came right out and said there is no delay on the part of Samsung/Google, there is no stock shortage or supply issues, and that shipments of the device are to be arriving at VZW's warehouse this week. I trust him more than I trust Amazon reps, and I definitely trust him more than I trust some MS-paint fake that is going around.

So that leaves us with this...Verizon just wants to fan out their releases a bit. It is the most logical explanation. They are running a tight schedule, however I don't think they will let that stop them from having every available choice to the consumer by Black Friday.

So my gut is telling me not to believe this December 2nd or later nonsense for the Verizon model. Whether it is the 17th/21st/or even black friday itself, or whether or not it is online only or what, I'm very confident we will see it this month.

If its true and VZ is saying Dec for the release date, and the UK is saying Dec. Then the link I posted about Google/Samsung bungling the launch could be true. If this is the case, its not vz fault, but its Google who's controlling this launch not vz!

I think we need to accept any delay past the 17th is a delay by Samsung, especially if they are also being delayed across the pond. Here is what I am thinking at this moment (assuming the 17th is not still a go, and everything else is just some evil people screwing with us). Samsung notified their carriers and retailers this weekend that they have a very limited supply. Since they have already commited to releasing in UK first, the limited supply of GSM version will go there to their preferred carriers. Verizon being the sole provider of the LTE version, is doing a web-only sale on the 21st, to better control the supply they have. The in-store date has been pushed back to when Samsung has told them they will have a better supply. This lines up with every leak and tidbit of info, and explains why the 17th date all of the sudden disappeared.
