Am I officially a nexaholic if I have my laptop next to my desktop with one browsing this thread and the other on the VZW website hitting F5 every 10 seconds on both?![]()
Verizon has never been able to test the iphone first because apple has always handled the updates. with every other android phone on their network verizon goes through vigorous testing, which is why updates can take so long after the manufacturer makes them and they sends them to verizon for approval.
It seems to me - just thinking about it - that several States Attorneys General may be interested in knowing that a phone company is trying to manipulate ad control how its customers spend their own money on non-phone-related things. I mean: who is Verizon to tell me that I can't use Google Wallet, that I HAVE to use Isis? They could be opening up a legal can of worms here... and THAT may be the reason for the delay: running Nexus through the VZW Legal Department.
Anybody hear from the person that said their store in Fla. had signage or something up?
I drove past a Verizon store in Melbourne FL and not a one ad on the outside mentioning a Galaxy Nexus. I can take pics if you don't believe me ;p

If lawyers are involved, we're screwed
Isn't there something wrong with this picture though, how is it that Verizon allows Apple to do whatever the heck they want (I know it's Apple and blah blah blah but they still suck imho) while Google can't release their darn phone already?? Meanwhile Verizon is adding their bloatware and possibly removing NFC and Google Wallet completely (what if Verizon wanted to add or remove apps from the iphone, or change it however they wanted to?).... Ugh, If I wasn't on a family plan and if Verizon's 4g/lte network wasn't so much better than the competitions in this area I would seriously consider switching providers.
I wish google could sell the phones and verizon would just sell data/voice plans and that my life would be simpler and happier.
I wish I could believe you, but I think you and most of the others here are enablers and wouldn't make very good sponsors.Yes. But it's ok. We're here to help.
The iPhone.
This argument was actually made a while back from another site and was cited to be possibly delay the Nexus. But I'm not so sure that it would entirely hold by the phone from release as Google Wallet is something that can be later negotiated. Also, does the GSM version have Google Wallet pre-installed? I don't think it's really mentioned in many reviews.

Ah the internet...Nerd rage ensues over a supposed phone "launch date" that has been based on rumor on hearsay only.
Stop reading about it every second of every day and the launch will eventually happen. It's a phone, not a kidney.

chesterharry needs to read this thread, because I read about the disabling of Google Wallet weeks ago. He says, "To me the NFC Google Wallet disabling is more than a small issue, and something I am surprised hadn't been revealed earlier. Most likely this is the root of the delay of this phones release."
What many of you are missing in my point in comparing this launch to an iPhone launch and saying that Apple gets it right is this:
Google announced this phone in mid-October....OFFICIALLY mind you....showed off all it's new features, and touted it as the best thing out there. Yet here we are 2 months later and don't even have any word of a release date. THAT is my complaint. You don't announce a phone that isn't ready for immediate release, period.
