Sadly, I am with the other negative people on this thread. They are pushing the RZR hard and also other deals to drop the old Droids and such. Emptying out the inventory to make way for new phones. I just cant figure out if they want everyone to by the RZR before Christmas, then release the Nexus or if they will release the Nex as the Christmas phone sometime mid Dec.

Sometimes I hate coming here and reading all these leaks and what not. Just keep getting more disapointed and my OG Droid get slower by the day, knowing that I am going to stick it in my closet soon :D

I'm not buying the argument that Verizon was ticked people found out and is delaying it. That makes no sense. This is a real business and if that ever came out, they would lose a lot of customers.

Ultimately, there is a reason why they haven't given us a release date yet. Usually the internet is good for piecing this together and finding out, but looks like we are all stumped. Even the dirt sheets are trying to make stuff up as it comes along.

I also don't think they are holding off for quarter sales, either. Companies are smart, but they know every day the Nexus isn't up, they are without the overall bottom line. At Christmas is the perfect launch time. Who DOESN'T want a GN in their stocking?

I'm guessing this gets real interesting tonight/tomorrow.
 
For all those that are still clinging to a release tomorrow:

It is not happening. I know it's hard to accept, but just relax and get comfortable with it. There is something seriously wrong going on with the release of this phone and it's not just that the 4G network went down, or that Verizon is pissed their date was leaked. No, there is something really preventing this phone from coming out, and we may never know what it is. At this point, I also have serious doubts about next week. No one knows what the hell is going on with this phone, except for a select group of people very high up at Verizon, so don't believe any rumor or leaked document you see/hear. Until Verizon says so, this phone DOES NOT EXIST. Verizon has until the end of the year, and I don't see any indication that they're in any rush to get this phone out the door. So I'd say, just assume it's coming out on the 31st, and if it comes before that, then so be it.

Also, there is NOTHING to prevent them from pushing it into next year. I don't care what their original press release says about "later this year". That is not a contract that is upheld by the law. That was a press release, and no more. This phone will come out when it comes out. Verizon doesn't care about you. I'm sorry to be such a downer.
 
Ok, I stopped trying to catch up in here 30 pages back and see that I've missed some interesting stuff. Congrats to Steven, belatedly! Wish I'd have known to contribute, too, and am glad to hear how well-executed his surprise was! what perfect timing after having to go through his wife getting hurt. And, speaking of executions, I see P3Droid may be going through one himself. Wow. Well, think I'll scan those last 1000 posts and be right back. :)

Oh man... I've done that before... Dinner, Casino, Hotel. I came back to the states with a VERY empty wallet. Food is outrageous up there thanks to the taxes (especially on drinks!).

Hmmm... Closest one is 45 min away. If I leave work a little early, I should be able to make it there and back before she even knows I'm gone!
 
On another note I called my local BJs store since they are listed as a corporate Verizon store and when I called yesterday it was still set to launch Friday. The man who answered was very nice and knew about the phone. He told me that it was all set to release tomorrow, but they just got word it was delayed but there was no date given.

He said call tomorrow or Monday to see if they have new info.

Peppermint mocha is so delicious.

I've learned to love the Dirty Chai Tea Latte (its a chai tea with a shot or two of espresso) -- talk about a caffeine high. It makes me bounce off the walls.

Well, y'all have brought me out of lurkdom. For the past couple of months, I haven't read magazines or books at night, but I have been reading posts! I usually only have a chance to catch up at night so you can imagine how much I've been reading. I've stayed up too late way too many nights hoping to get some information. I definitely got a warm and fuzzy feeling last night after reading about y'all pitching in to get Steve a phone. How sweet!

Anyhow, I've been calling Verizon a few times a week and I always get the same response ... No release date but you can sign up on the mailing list and you'll be the first to know blah blah. This morning at 9:00 on the dot I called my local store and the girl said the date had been pushed back but she wouldn't say anymore. I asked her pushed back from when and she didn't know. She did say to check back after 1:00. I will definitely be calling back but I'm not holding breath that I'll get any info. My store is in a podunk town so I will be surprised if they know anything. I guess I should be happy they at least knew the phone exists.

Anyhow, I've enjoyed reading the past months. BTW, for the ones complaining about their current phone. I doubt anyone has one worse than mine. I have an LG ALLY that is so slooooooooooooowww and I swear since I decided to get the SGN it has been giving me even more problems.
 
Just called my local Costco. They wouldn't give me a date, but they did confirm they'd have it available whenever VZW releases the phone. More interestingly, I asked about the "Bonus Pack" and was told it will have at a minimum:

Car Charger
"Pouch" (case?)
Screen Protector

There may also be extra stuff thrown in, but the rep wasn't able to confirm anything else at the moment.

I think I'll probably try to head over to Costco tomorrow during lunch and see what happens.

Google does the same, and we get a bloated, numerously delayed device with a really compelling feature (Google Wallet) disabled.

Need to look at what Apple had as far as bargaining chips. All the people that were on AT&T just for the iPhone and the fact that Apple doesn't need Verizon to sell their store.

Can I come with you? I'm actually rather serious, I think we might be surprised. According to this story, Costco has a flag in their system not to sell the phone until 12/9, but after that appears to be no holds barred.
