Hi everyone. I got off work at noon (CST) today and I thought I'd go on a Nexus quest just for fun.
I stopped by Cell Vision (authorized reseller) and the guy working there told me that he received an email just 10 minutes prior saying that the Nexus had been pushed back. I asked if he had any in stock to demo and he said that they hadn't received any units yet.
Then I gave a call to another authorized reseller in my city called "Cellular Connection". The assistant manager answered and told me that the Nexus was delayed, and that he was informed that December 15 was the new release date. His store had received only 3 phones to sell.
He told me that he already had 2 names down to "reserve" the phones (a buddy of his and another customer who had called). I gave him my information and he said that I have his 100% promise that I can come in and get the Nexus on 12/15 at 8:00am. (He also was very insistent on saying that I didn't need to continue calling other stores or make appointments elsewhere... that I would get the phone from him. Sounds like he wants to make a sale!). I will stick to that plan unless I discover that I can get some discount at a corporate VZW store or Amazon Wireless within a few days of release.
He told me that (unfortunately) he isn't able to demo any of the 3 units he has on hand - that it is prohibited by Verizon.

I think we need more people to pay for a Premium membership if we're going to be able to support every one and all these posts. I feel like we have more and more lurkers coming out of hiding every day. And the number of posts on this thread is mind boggling, over 74k and counting! UNBELIEVABLE! I reserved the phone ... my name is on it. was playing with it --- weird back door -- battery in everything. It does exist and it is nice.

She sent me a text wed. morning. Said it had been delayed. It was definitely a go for wed night too, the day before I got an email from another rep telling me about the midnight release. SIGH.....the week it could have been!
Aah bummer... well, hopefully we will have this critter in our hands sometime this year

Maybe the Verizon execs just want to enjoy their Nexuses one more week on their 4G/LTE network before a lot of us get on it and bog it down? Sounds like a pretty sound theory to me.

No offense to you but I just don't understand the excitement over post counts. I couldn't care less about this crap and I don't think I'm in the minority. I think most people would rather this thread had 2,000 posts and we all had a Nexus in our hands. Just saying.....

All I can say is that we all have high expectations for this phone. It better be EXTREMELY handy as well as massively entertaining. With this whole debacle, I really think we all deserve it to be even better than we hope. My wife and I both have been sitting on our upgrades since mid July and there has been nothing to upgrade to (maybe Rezound, but meh). Sure I could have gone with another carrier but I want my unlimited LTEs. If it performs like I want it, then it could very well replace my Comcast Internet.

No kids (other than the furry sort) but my dad did this with my sister (and to some degree my niece.. had to stand in when my brother-in-law got called away on business for one of the dances). Definitely something they both remember, and something my brother-in-law remembers about meeting my dad for the first time. That and since dad was a marine, how intimidating he was while giving him the rules for dating his daughter in his combat fatigues. At least he wasn't one of the ones dad would give the lecture while cleaning his service .45
Anyhow, it's awesome that you are doing this. Will be a great memory for both you and your daughter I'm sure.
Nice, I just bought myself a 91Z TT w/ 76k miles.
My buddy called me this morning and said he could sell me one, but if he got caught, they'd be fined by VZW $700 per phone. It's not worth it, I'll just hold off now.

I will wait as long as it takes. If this thing comes out in February, I will still get it. I don't care how outdated the specs get, I want a Nexus phone. I want a vanilla Android phone that gets direct updates from Google.
