It is said you should enter '*#*#2432546#*#*' to get things going. I can't check it, since I am not running the stock 1.5 anymore on my hero.

Otherwise, it may be possible to just switch the time settings to manual and fast-forward it two weeks, than reboot the phone.
 
WTF do I have to wait for OTA updates? The bloody phone came with a USB cable, and hTC have a website, why don't they just post the [deleted] update already?!

Is there anyone from Taiwan who can give some more info on the update? I can't believe that the update is out for them and NOBODY even bothered to report it... :confused:
 
HTC, what joke. Theyre happy to show off the award they got for the Hero on their website proudly, but completely treat its Hero uses like the black sheep of the phone family. Right now those isheep phone users I envy

I've been wondering the same thing. You'd think that SOMEONE would have some info. Well of course no doubt there is but it's much harder to stumble across and translate....

I would guess it's so that, if the update screws up somehow, they only have a small fraction of their hero customers to deal with rather than all of them. I mean just look at the Sprint hero 2.1 update, which had a tone of problems initially.

Don't get me wrong, whatever the reason it's still a ridiculous way to do it :P
 
If T-Mob are testing it then It should be any moment now, Watch the forums / HTC Twitter / HTC Support site on Friday and we'll see what happens!

Im running a rooted version of 2.1 now but when the official 2.1 comes i would like to go back to the safety of running the official :)
Can I just install the official RUU when that comes and with that safely unroot the phone? :)

I think this only relates the Benelux Heroes, but still encouraging for this week.
 
will this update fix my constint dropped call issue ive been having since day one? i have terrible service with telus' hspa network and i frequently loose data and cell signal throughout the day regardless of my location.. i have a friend with an iphone on the same network and has had zero problems.. starting to hate this phone.
 
Chris good idea to call telus, I was having problems on Rogers so I called them and they did a uicc update and fixed the problem, it was a Sim card update of some sort I'm not nerdy enough to know what it was lol

If your Telus Hero is GSM / UMTS, then yes this update should help.

It includes a new radio ROM, but if you can't wait do a bit of googling on how to update your radio. Latest issue is "OU" I believe.
