There's been talk of what screen protectors and cases to get.... does anyone have recommendations on a good Bluetooth headset?
 
If you're seriously worried about VERIZON'S signals..... then you really don't have anywhere else to go... =/

I'm not worried about Verizon's signal. Verizon is the greatest cellular company I've ever dealt with, and their coverage is awesome. I'm worried about the Incredible being able to connect to it. In a couple reviews, people stated that the Incredible received weaker signals in the same local than their previous Verizon phones. So this wouldn't be a problem with the network, but with the phone. I am simple wondering if the people who have received the phone early have noticed a drop is signal in relation to other Verizon phones.
 
i just called verizon customer service about the shipment of the inc. i pre ordered mine at 5am on the 19th, and paid $14.99 for overnight priority... well they said that it would ship out on the 29th and receive it the 30th!!! i called again a couple hours later and they said the same thing. man this sucks! i know its just one day but i dont think i can wait...
 
I can vouch firsthand that just b/c they claim they have the best signal, etc doesn't mean it's everywhere.

According to their map, my house if fully covered. I should be able to stand in the front yard, back yard, on the roof and get a signal. Well, after arguing for MONTHS that this wasn't the case I finally got a discount on a Network Extender. I wanted to cancel my account then, but I was not able to b/c their map said I had coverage. Thats right, b/c the MAP said I had coverage then of course I had coverage...I must be lieing lol

My phone even dropped the call NUMEROUS times talking to tech support, but they said it was on their end, not mine lol

I've been saying this for a while. Verizon may in fact have the best overall network but is isn't as good as they overhype it to be. There maps are full of areas they swear up and down are covered with complete 3G coverage meanwhile back in the real world you can't even get a signal in that very same map location to make the simplest of phone calls. Simply put, Verizon is very good at hyping and selling it's network.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. I've always had great customer service with Verizon. A simple, nice email got my NE2 date moved up this time as well. And I've gotten great service all over the U.S. My friends and family on AT&T on the other hand -- awful.

I told tech support that if they want to send a local engineer out to see the coverage just say when and I will open the front door for him. I even offered to have a grill out and a few beers with the local engineers. Tech support thats not necessary, the maps say there is coverage, so I should get coverage. I am not talking 3g coverage either, I am talking just enough coverage to dial a freaking pizza place!
 
This is very comforting for someone about to switch over to VZW from AT&T!:(:confused::(

Don't let one instance discourage you. My NE2 date was 5/22 and I called on Saturday and got it changed to that day. It depends on who you talk to and how you the conversation goes. They obviously don't have to change the date for you, you signed a contract after all. I've had nothing but great experiences with the VZW customer service.

Why is VZW so disorganized with this release? It's not the first device to ever be released!! I called CSR and spoke to someone who assured me if I preordered, mine would be delivered on the 29th. I have not yet ordered... still up in the air on how I want to get it.

My question is- what is the chance this thing goes on sale in store on the 28th or any day BEFORE the 29th? Has this ever happened before?

LOLOL. similar to the pix we saw before from NKT(?). people still wont believe it.

people just get caught up in the 8gb "installed" portion. that's vzw's fault for poor word choice.

Actually, if they're misrepresenting their coverage map they can get in a lot of trouble with the FCC.

I just ordered a Jawbone Icon from the Verizon site a couple of weeks ago and I really like it. They had one for $80 on their 24 hours deal, and I had an email for 25% off accessories for my birthday, so I got it for $60. The only improvement I wish they would make was that the headset would tell you the name of the person calling instead of their number, but since you can actually upgrade the software in the headset, it's very possible this could be a future update.

i have one favor to ask, and i apologize if this was already done, but do you have any way of confirming that it works on wifi N? i haven't seen anything on it and am still wondering.

if you don't have the resources to test it I definitely understand, just thought i'd ask!

I'm working on that...but it's a bit tricky to "confirm" in pics. Stay tuned...
 
Here's what I got when I questioned the release date:


Email #1:
Your pre-order for the HTC Droid Incredible, Reference 000000000, is showing no fee for the shipping. The shipping code is FEDEXSHP002, which is Standard Shipping.

Per the advisement you received on your call into the center, the equipment will ship on 04-29-10, the launch date.







Email #2: I apologize for the information you were given in the previous email. We have been given specific instructions to make sure that all pre-orders for the HTC Incredible are shipped out on 4/28/2010 as an overnight order to be received on 4/29/2010.

To make sure of this, I have set up a follow up on your account to make sure the order is processed properly.






Now here's what the site says: Pre-orders placed online before 4pm local time on 4/28 will be delivered 4/29.






Someone better straighten something out soon or I am going to cram this phone up someone's ass. I took off the 29th and now they said I will get it May 3rd. On and On and On with the f**&$ks!

It happens, just not very often. Verizon has announced that they're fining anyone who breaks the hard street date of the 29th.

And, from my talks with CSRs, it appears that they were just unlucky with this release. They had just made some pretty significant changes to the site and it hadn't been load tested before. Toss that in with Verizon's unusual secrecy leading up to the device launch, and you have some pretty confused and frazzled reps.

Yeah, but that's not what the customer service reps are saying. I called on a totally unrelated issue and they said.......ok then this order will ship out on the 29th...I said, OH hell no, it won't!
 
Hey Anonimac Not sure if my question got lost in the shuffle but if you can check and see if the DI is able to do this. That would be helpful..I'm not sure I'm digging Sense UI and would like to know if I can go Stock Android on this bad boy....

Sure but you've got the burden of proving it. And what do you get out of it? The FCC gets a ton of money and Verizon takes some red off their map but only for that little spot that you called their bluff on. It's not worth your while and they know it that's why they show 3G coverage where their is none. Make no mistake, Verizon is the best U.S. network but they still are a big business and will lie, cheat, and do whatever else will make them an extra buck.

I have been reading up on them and the Plantronics 975 seems to be a very good choice. The Jawbone Icon seems to very nice as well.
