Yeah, but that's not what the customer service reps are saying. I called on a totally unrelated issue and they said.......ok then this order will ship out on the 29th...I said, OH hell no, it won't!

If theres one thing ive learned after being with verizon for 6 years... its that many of their customer services reps are clueless. sometimes i feel like i know more about their company and products than they do. i have had many experiences to back that up as i'm sure many of you have also had.
 
I wouldn't worry too much about the delivery date. I called VZW earlier today to ask about it and they said that it would be SHIPPED on the 29th. I said no no no...YOUR WEBSITE says that orders placed before 430pm local time on 4/28 will be delivered on 4/29. These poor csr's have no idea what their own website says about this phone. Chalk it up to poor leadership from their managers/supervisors.

It sounds like VZW's csr's are overwhelmed with a combination of misinformation (or a flatout lack of info), a "new" website that was poorly tested, and a new phone that is perhaps a little bit more popular than VZW expected.

I've had only good experiences with the csr's and hope this continues.

I know and I thought, well, this lady doesn't have a clue, but wait more people are posting the exact same thing I heard. That's why I emailed and called again. It's on the website, so it better be true! I am :mad: and ready to anally insert this phone into someone!
 
Well if he works at a store that sells Verizon then he's probably upset that you aren't waiting to buy it from him. I would be. There is nothing worse than when people do this to me. That takes money out of my pocket when you buy your phone elsewhere.

I never said I'd buy it from him... I'd never break a deal like that.

Oh I was very satisfied with all the csr's I talked to. They were nice and genuinely helpful -- except the first one. Is it so hard to send around a F'ing memo...an email.....a text...doesn't their company do something like that?
 
anonimac: i noticed in the other thread "in-house incredible pictures and video" that you were working to answer questions people had with the incredible... is it possible to do a side-by-side comparison of the dB signal strength of the incredible and another phone considered to be decent with signal (motorola droid?) to see if the lack of bars on the incredible is truly due to poor signal reception or just the software providing a more conservative graphical representation? this may address many people's concerns regarding the incredible based on a few reviews... thanks
 
lol no... just speaking from a store owner/employee perspective. I can see why someone you know that works at a store would be upset. It's a pet peeve. People love to go to others stores or online and buy a phone and then come to you when they need something later. Even if they don't need something later it's still rude. We're trying to make a living and if you're friends you'd think you would respect that and buy from someone you know instead of a slap in the face.

It would kinda be different if we met in the store where he worked or something... I met him at a photoshoot. I can't base a potential relationship on a phone no matter how Incredible it may be.
I was raised to get everything I want/need myself & not to depend on anyone to 'skate by on'. It's great to have friends that can help out but in the end I do everything for me myself.
 
I'm not sure I understand all this banter associated with the shipping date. All the emails I've received state the same thing. "Pre-orders placed online before 4pm local time on 4/28 will be delievered on 4/29." On the main page of the website it states "Free overnight shipping on all online orders. Order before 4:30pm Mon-Fri & get it the next business day."

I've ordered online new phones, replacement phones through verizon and through Asurion(sp). I have received all phones as promised. Without deviation. I don't get why people are doubting it now. This should be a simple process. Keep your emails stating delivery date, and call in on the 27th or 28th to verify if you feel it necessary to do so.

Here's some pics of the Incredible's storage...needless to say internal flash storage confirmed, lol. :cool:

So it has 8GB of internal storage. Some is used up for the OS that leaves a little over 6GBs of storage. What is that phone memory? Has anyone found out if that is just a part of the internal storage put aside for apps or is it the ROM?
 
I feel very pathetic that all i do these days is get on the computer to check my order status for the incredible, to see if the black-red gradient snap on case is up, to look to see if i can order a screen protector (besides the invisible shield and the privacy protector that verizon currently has up) before i recieve my phone, then i check out this thread to see if theres anything important i missed, and spend even more time looking at other things about it. even though i know that none of it will change the date i receive these things, i cant help myself. even more pathetic, i get worried that the fore-mentioned items wont be available even though the phone just went on preorder YESTERDAY. I hope i'm not the only pathetic one out there.

Yeah. Plus, Indiana Jones had a sweet fedora, a bull whip, and a pistol. Not to mention, he was usually matched with an attractive lady-type. So if you plan on replacing the lady in the equation for the glossy, finger-tempting smoothness of a capacitive OLED touch screen (and my guess is that most here would, without hesitation), I'd stay away from the purse.

There's been talk of what screen protectors and cases to get.... does anyone have recommendations on a good Bluetooth headset?

I have an Aliph Jawbone Prime - the thing is extremely amazing on noise reduction. I would caution you though - I have a beard and, although they claim it should work, it does not if it starts to grow thick. Also, I am extremely hot natured and I have my vents in my car blowing directly in my face. When I try and talk on it and the air is on, most folks say it sounds like I am in a hole (very muffled). I have to switch it to my left ear and it will not stay in my ear.:mad: But, if you don't have those problems like me it is one INCREDIBLE headset! :D

First you whine that VZ plays games and doesn't tell us anything. Then they tell us 2 weeks ahead of time, and you're all going to b!tch and moan about how stupid VZ and their reps are.

Is this the most important thing in your life? A month form now you wont even remember the 2 day extra wait time.

Yes, I know there have been inconstancy in their information. BUT, one thing we know - it releases on the 29th. Anything more/earlier/better is just gravy. BFD if someone gets their's before you get yours. If they DIDN"T get it earlier than you, does that help YOU in any way.

Try making your own candle burn brighter rather than trying to put others flames out
 
I caved and ordered the Incredible online. I'm having it shipped to a different address because I will not be available during the day to sign for it.
 
I am also trying to sell my mom on getting the device, but she says it looks "too complicated".

She's using this plantronics mess right now thats a million times more complicated then sense.:rolleyes:

Yeah well we both had the voyager and mine broke and hers is getting bad so she liked it when I showed her some reviews so we both are getting the phone now.
