I was on the phone checking one thing or another with my order and a customer service rep told me ..okay, that all then.....well, this will go out to you ON the 29th and you'll get it on MAY 3rd. A few other people had the the same experience...but shhhhhhhhh....if we talk about it....we're whiners and panty waists.
Well I'm not whining... now I'm curious!

If it ships on Thursday/29th (like that supposed "rep" said) and its OVERNIGHT shipping (like it says)... it doesn't make ANY LOGICAL SENSE AT ALL to arrive FIVE days after.

That's what I thought,too! That's why I was a little bit testy. Wouldn't it come Friday????
 
if anyone is interested phantom skinz have their screen protectors available for pre order, says "This product is available for pre-order only and will begin shipping once the device is released." I have read good reviews on them. price is $9.95 for 2 (screen only)

Do they do that Orange Peel thing that other ppl mentioned (I can't think of the brand).
 
Did anyone else order it by just adding the cost to their bill? I've never done it before, is there any reason why they wouldn't let you do it? Cause I called cust service and they didn't have an answer for me because the orders haven't been processed yet, and I just want to make sure nothing goes wrong.
 
So i called Customer service and got our upgrade pushed up so i preordered which is GREAT and all butttttt

the guy didnt give me an order number or i dont have anything but he took my credit card and said it's gonna be preordered and shipped the 28th

anyway to check that? you need an order number huh...the upgrade details online still say June 2010

I called *611 and the CSR could NOT preorder the phone said the computer would not let her. Talked to another CSR and they said the same thing. I got a card in the mail saying I can get early upgrades. The CSR said I can ONLY get that early upgrade thru the store or phone order. Well... the store can't preorder the Incredible and neither can the phone CSRs. /sigh The early upgrade deal ends the 30th and the CSR at the store said he wasn't sure he would have any Incredibles on the 29th. :eek:

I'm going to do to the store in person tomorrow and ask them to physically change my upgrade dates so I can preorder online. Hope that works!

thats one of the main things I have been researching...zagg is supposed to be one of the worst for the orange peel effect. phantom skinz supposedly has very little if any orange peel effect. I am just doing the screen though and gonna put a siedo innocase II on the rest (hopefully they will have them soon)
 
Not complaining about the incredible not arriving on the 29th......I called on an unrelated topic and they told me all order would be received on MAY 3. They said it was only SHIPPING on the 29th. I am just really getting sick of being jerked around...that's all. I never had some much trouble GIVING someone $150 of my money before in my life!
if it ships on the 29th we should get it on the 30th, not may 3rd. they dont know what they're talking about. but most likely we'll all get it on the 29th
 
Just did my pre-order!!

Whoever suggested the Moto Rokr S305 Headphones - thank you very much - I looked around and they were actually a decent deal at $40, plus free overnight shipping.

I realized that I would look pretty stupid at the gym with a $600 phone and my crappy $9 wired earbud headphones (which I hate). I can't wait to watch TV/Movies while at the gym - will make cardio so much easier!

This is going to be the longest 9 days... I just hope that verizon finds religion and starts shipping out the rest of the pre-orders early.

Until then, i'll be checking this thread a million times a day, as I have since CTIA

I chose that option. There shouldn't be anything wrong with it. When I bought the Motorola Droid (Returned it after a few weeks), I had them bill it to my account and there were no problems in doing that. That phone was also more expensive since I did it in store where you had to fill out a rebate form that you would get refunded via the mail.

Co-sign the ridiculous level of immaturity here.

The guy that showed a VZW rep this site as proof that people were getting Incredible's early, as if that would allow the rep to sell him one early.... The only thing that could have possible done, is get another rep fired.

Or the guy that walked into the VZW store with his Incredible just to show people, and went out of his way to drive sales away from reps... Honestly... who does that?

Everybody badmouthing reps who are just doing their jobs... Believe it or not, it's not their job to know about every single phone coming down the line. It's their job to help you with whatever your concern is, and if that means looking something up on the spot, that they don't know... then that's what it is. I'm willing to bet they got sent one email about the Incredible (if that), with very basic info, and that's it. They work at a VZW call center; it's not their life.

The people in here that apparently can't read.. well... anything, and keep asking the same questions, and getting all nervous about when the phone is coming out... what the specs are (despite them being confirmed in the 458230675346842058 reviews that are currently available)... it's crazy in here.

The phone is coming out on the 29th. If you, or somebody else, gets their phone ealier.. great. If not, hey... the 29th isn't that far away.

The specs are clear. Stop asking about them. Take the 20 seconds out of your own time to find out what you want to know. People in here acting like little kids... and I'm probably younger than 90% of you guys...

I've always added the cost of the phone to my bill and have never had a problem with it. It shouldn't be any different than paying by CC.
 
I dont remember seeing anything about this in the launch package, but has anyone seen, or know of a place that might offer a slipcase for the INC? something like this bberry one Blackberry Source.com - Pocket Slip Case for BlackBerry Bold (Black)

Just something that I can slip the INC into, but easily whip out and use it without anything on it.

I measured my Dell Axim x50 and it's almost exactly the same size (but much thicker) than the Incredible. I love the slip case that came with it, so I just ordered one from Ebay for 1$ (plus shipping). I'm going to use this until I decide on a snap-on case, and it might even still fit then too.


On another subject: if you root your phone, can you install the wi-fi tethering app without loading a custom ROM?

Oh, I just finally gave in and ordered my Incredible. YAY!!!
 
Ok, I have been reading here for quite a while, first post I gave away some google voice invites I wasn't using.

I have to say though, Verizon pisses me off more and more when I deal with them! My NE2 is up on May 27, 2010, 36 days from now. I have 4 lines, 1 droid with data plan, 3 regular phones....my bill averages $160/month. I have been a LONG time verizon customer!

I have called the CSR's twice and they will NOT move the date up, 36 days and they won't budge on it. I was offered $50 credit rather than my $100 NE2. So I shoot off and email and now they go to $75 credit rather than $100.

Needless to say I have fired off a very nasty email b/c I just don't care anymore. I would rather sell the droid and buy a Incredible outright than sign another contract with this god foresaken company!!

ok, now I feel better after that rant!

I called customer service two days ago asking about my NE2. The primary line is not up for NE2 till July. But it did qualify for an early upgrade with a small fee. I then asked about another line that has data but its not up for renewal. That line isn't up for renewal till August. I wanted to purchase two new Incredibles to replace the two Blackberries that we currently have on the account. The first CSR I talked too didn't want to make any exceptions. I called again a few minutes later and asked the same questions. This time around the CSR was sort of confused but she agreed to talk to her manager regarding the purchase of two new Incredibles. A few minutes later, she got the approval. So hopefully on the 29th I shall be receiving my two new Incredibles. So I got an early upgrade on the primary line and an early renewal on the second line. You may want to call them again. If you don't succeed with the first CSR, try again until you get lucky. Most of them are nice enough to go the extra mile and ask their supervisor/managers. Good luck!

Yes, I ordered my phone and a leather case and billed it to my account. Very easy, plus that gives me about another 20 days until I need to come up with cash for it, than if my CC was billed on the day it shipped.

I put my current phone on my bill 2 years ago, also. Easy and breezy. :)
 

I thought I noticed some people posting that we would have to wait for this to be made for the incredible but wouldn't the one for the N1 work on the Inc (I could be wrong about people saying this).

Also, what online retailer do people traditionally go to for cases? Nothing for the hip but a hard case to protect this bad boy from clumsy drunks and curious toddlers?
