True. I can have no bars inside my house and it works just as well as standing outside with full reception.

I had that messenger bag in college, it was the biggest piece of crap ever. It frayed at the metal bands that affix the bag to the strap. Died in under a year.

starting to get a little nervous about my switch from at&t to verizon. A guy here at work has a droid and is getting in the neighborhood of 400 kbps from the speedtest while the iphone 3GS'er is getting near 2000. Another friend of mine has a T-Mobile N1 and is getting around 400 as well. Hopefully the service is way better everywhere else because in our building it seems it could be awful, and we are supposed to have repeaters on the building since our company uses Verizon exclusively. I've noticed that my company blackberry (verizon) web sucks, but not sure if that's more because its a blackberry tour or because verizon service.....

We're in the same boat. In fact, copy/pasting has gotten worse with the advent of OS 5, IMHO, with the removal of cursor-mode selection in the browser. God, I can't wait to dump this piece of crap.

I have the BlackBerry Tour and it's a pain in the a$$ to copy and paste on this thing too. I upgraded to OS 5.0 recently and the phone has been acting strange since. 7 days til I can dump this POS...unfortunately I still have to support them at work...

odds are the repeaters are not 3G repeaters, but simply there for calling out. We have repeaters for Cincinnati Bell in our building, but they aren't for 3G or anything remotely near that.
 
Do you guys (and gals of course) think that after the first batch of Incredibles is sold that the second batch will have "DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC" on the packaging? I've seen this done before with other things. I.E. the first batch (before the last minute name change) has HTC Incredible, while the second batch (After the name change) has the DROID logo.

I was listening to Phil do this review and I heard you WILL NOT be able to do this copy and paste in the text and gmail apps. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this feature? on the risk of sound like crapple... "is there an app for that?" :p

That's what I was hoping as well, you would think if they declined billing it to your account they would let you know or you wouldn't get a confirmation email. I actually got off the phone with VZW's Internet Billing and they said my order was looking good and I would receive it on the 29th. If I were you I would try giving them a call, because the regular CSR's really don't know much about the pre-orders.

If VZW doesn't meet your standards, no biggie. You can switch back within a few weeks without issue.
 
any word on more accessories and when they will be released?

I really want to get that extended battery but there seems to be no release for verizon or BB stores.

Hi, just wondering where you all stand on screen protectors.

After hearing that the screen is in danger of being nicked, I think it makes it all the more critical that we get a screen protector.

My dilemma is based on everything I've read, we have two choices:

1) Crystal Clear variety- will give us the best clarity, but bad for glare and fingerprints

or

2) The anti-smudge variety- which should help on the glare and fingerprints, but probably not as clear as above.


That being the case, I think I'm leaning towards the anti-smudge style.

I've put in requests for 3 different companies to make one specifically for the Incredible (including Steinheil) but haven't received any response for this yet.

My question is, are you all in a holding pattern like I am to wait for something that hasn't been released yet? Do we think we'll see something in our hands before the 29th?

Anyone know of any anti-glare protectors available for the Incredible?

If OS 5.0 was supposed to bring benefits to BB, I haven't seen any. Performance has been sluggish, like usual. Anyone know what these have been fetching on eBay? Would love to cover the cost of my DI desktop dock and case by selling this POS :D

I really want to bail my Tour off to someone for a decent price before the Tour 2 comes out as well.

The only benefit I saw from the OS 5.0 upgrade was threaded SMS. That was a big thing for me, otherwise it's just more useless BS.

On a separate yet related topic I really wish VZW would stop dumping bloatware on my frickin phone. I don't want a Bing application or NFL Mobile! If I did don't you think I would have gone to the damn app world and downloaded them? Enough already...

I'm of a mixed opinion on selling it. Yes, I'd offset some of the Inc's cost, but the Storm is a world phone (the Inc isnt), and I'd like to have something available for when I travel abroad.
 
Do we have any hints of an inductive charger in our future? Such as accessible metal contact points under the case near the battery? Personally I'm dying for a non-plug-in charging solution and the dock seems like our only option so far.

that was awesome man. And the crazy thing is, "Leaving on a Jetplane was playing on the radio when I read that. soooo weird. :eek:
