In trying to decide which case to get for this phone, a question came to mind. If I get a case with a magnetic closure, will that mess with the calibration of the compass? I searched the forums and didn't find a definitive answer. I know it's a minor issue, but I may use it some.

Thanks in advance.

people have received emails now from SGPstore stating their protectors will be available on phone launch. Those of you that want a crystal clear screen (will leave finger prints) that feels more like glass, I definitely say check them out!!

I will definitely be checking these out when I get my incredible. I really want a screen protector that you can't tell it is on there and this seems to fit the bill. I had taken them off my list when the reports of emails coming in yesterday saying they had no plans to make products for the incredible, but with the new info today they are back at the top of my list.

I will not. No matter how amazing a device is, my wife will not allow me to purchase a new one until my NE2 is up in December, 2011. I could tell her that the phone has the capability to manipulate the very fabric of space-time, but it will not matter.

I just got lucky that my NE2 was up on 4/15 this time around.

Wow. You gotta put on the pants and law down the damn law. Unless of course she makes way more money than you and you suck at managing money. If not, grow some balls, dude. Your post seriously saddened me today.

Greaaaat...so now I am going to be staring at my door step AND at the forums from the 26th and on!

I'm gonna set up shop on the front porch, lol! I'm gonna look like the scary old lady across the street that just sits outside all day. Except I'll have my laptop. :D

Not true. I preordered just after midnight Monday morning, and used the free express shipping and my order is still pending phone availability.

Same here - ordered mine around 11:00 PM EDT on Sunday the 18th and I got (and still get) the same message... :(

Am I better off getting the anti-fingerprint that they seem to offer. I think it's also anti-glare. What's the opinion on crystal vs anti-fingerprint from SGP?

I took the day off too. There's no sense in being on the clock and not being productive.

Concerning the first battery charge: Why can't you leave it plugged in and charging AND use the phone? It WILL charge while on. What's the damage?

Too late... been that way since I joined the forum :D

EDIT: Zulucap beat me to it :P

The problem with putting on the pants is that by the time I get them, she has already gone through the pockets.

He did mention that I'll probably want to d/l Advanced Task Killer, to kill apps that aren't being used to help stretch out battery life; and in settings, eliminate gps and wifi from Google maps to save battery life (can always turn them on as needed) since, at least on his Droid, they're both turned on by default.

Verizon sure loves to push ATK on everyone.

There's a lot of debate about ATK and other task killers for Android (look on this forum for the various task killer threads).

Android is very good with process management. Even though you'll see programs 'running' that you aren't using when you use a task manager, having a task manager constantly running to auto killing them can make your phone run slower and drain the battery quicker.

You should really just let Android manage your phone. It's much better at it then you are.

Having said that, I do use the paid Advanced Task Manager on my Droid, but I only use it occasionally to kill a misbehaving app. I never leave it auto killing things in the background.

from what I've read the anti fingerprint works good, it just depends on if you dont mind the colors getting a little washed out and slightly blurry. it's not terrible but there is definitely a difference in res quality on the screen with the anti fingerprint ones. it's nothing specific to this brand, you will get that on any anti fingerprint/anti glare type screen protector. also, these type screen protectors usually have a slight texture, some people actually like the texture because it makes your finger slide a little easier. like I said it's a matter of personal opinion. myself, I don't want anything to change the natural beauty of my wonderful amoled screen (so I am gonna go with the crystal ones)

Syncing with your Google account is built into Android. When you set up your phone, you give it your Gmail address and it will automatically pull in your contacts and calendar entries.

what if i want to sync my corporate outlook email address to the phone? will the incredible do that too?

Mine was saying it was fully charged after about an hour of being on the charger. The battery came at half charge.

If you believe the experts, you need to charge the phone 4-5 hours regardless of what the phone says - for the first few charges. It will say full charge after an hour or two but that's not enough to 'condition' the phone to get optimal performance for the life of the battery....

My advice...be patient and let it get a full charge. (Of course the people who can't wait 4-5 hours will be the first to post complaints here about the poor battery performance!)

Just a head's up that you only get your NE2 discount if you sign up for another 2-year contract. If the Verizon store makes an exception for you you'll be the first case I've ever heard of so I wish you the best of luck. Just don't beat up the CSR is he tells you no :D

About 100 pages ago I confirmed that my CSR had told me that I had already earned my NE2, and that it could still be applied to a 1-year contract, I just wouldn't be eligible again going forward.

Three more calls to various CSRs had them all scratching their heads in disagreement though -- it seems you have to CONTINUE to purchase two year plans in order to use that discount. Good thing I had the original rep write a very explicit note on my account saying he stated I could use my $100 NE2 toward a 1-year contract. It will probably be a bit of hassle, but I think I can still get it.

I'm thinking about taking the day off (or taking a half day), but I'm wondering what'll happen if it arrives earlier than planned? If VZW is starting shipping them out on the 26th, I could have it in my hands as early as the 27th.

It's especially tough since I pick up and drop off a coworker...

Thanks, good explanation. Will probably go with crystal myself!:)

But isn't the phone programmed to stop accepting a charge if it thinks it's full after it shows that it's full???

any news on a new battery cover? I don't mind the layered back but i would like a smooth back like the nexus one and other HTC phones.
