I placed my order yesterday/Sunday at approximately 3:15 PM. I got the below just minutes ago. I don't put faith in the order numbering sequence.

My order is sitting in Memphis and I too noticed the weather statement. Mine still gives an estimated delivery date of 4/28 by 7pm. So I'm hoping.
 
Is anyone's shipping from Memphis? I checked the tracking on FedEx.com, and they're saying the Memphis shipping hub might be experiencing delays in shipping due to the fact that there were severe thunderstorms the previous night. I hope this doesn't mean my Incredible will be arriving on Thursday instead of Wednesday as it's scheduled for a Wednesday delivery! D: D:

Yes, mine is coming through Memphis. It seems to be following the same timing and path that an order for my parents phones followed. Although theirs were shipped overnight and mine is 2 day, I am sure it won't leave Memphis till around 4 AM, and it will arrive in Omaha at 5:30 or so AM. I'm not sure wether or not they will be nice with mine, or make me wait :(. Probably depends on how much crap is headed to Omaha.
 
I asked a rep at a store near me how many they had in stock and he told me (The store I visited had 45, by the way). If you want to make sure a particular store has sufficient stock, you could pay the store a visit or make a call, and just ask them. Depending upon the rep, they may not know, or for some reason they may not want to tell you, but it can't hurt to ask. I decided to pre-order online and have it shipped to work so that I didn't have to take time off or risk them running out before I got out of work on Thursday. It is also nice not to have to deal with a mail-in rebate, and because I have 4 lines on a family plan and I am getting 4 new phones, I figured if I ordered online there was a chance my Incredible might get shipped early since the other 3 phones are models that are already available.

I know the corporate store in Sioux Falls, SD is getting around 10 according to the manager. I kinda figured larger metro areas would get more (SF is only around 200k) so I don't think 30 at your store seems outta line.

Usually, they are allocated by the volume that the store normally does, as opposed to the size of the city they're in (as explained to me by a VZW retail CSR). You may have two VZW stores in the same city, and if one store is doing twice the volume, it's going to get upwards of that many more handsets.

You figure, they can only send each store so many handsets at a time, and they're trying to do a balancing act where they don't want to send 30 phones to some store where 11 of them might be sitting in the back for 3 weeks, when there is another store that gets 40, but they're begging for more because they can sell 40 in 2 or 3 days.

I pre ordered my incredible today. The manager had to make a call to check and see if she could show me the working phone, she got the ok and told me to have at it so I checked it out for a few minutes and it was sweet. My store is opening an hour early for any pre orders to be picked up. The manager said that her store was only receiving 10 incredibles this Thursday and me and my buddy took number 6 and 7. While we were playing with the phone a guy ordered number 8. The guy that I know at the store agreed to charge mine and my buddies phone on Wednesday, so that on Thursday morning at 8:01am when we get there to pick them up they will be fully charged and ready to go. Now thats INCREDIBLE!!!:D
 
I pre-ordered on Saturday, should i be worried my order status hasn't changed to "you should receive it in 2-3 days"? Thursday is in 3 days. and of course i haven't gotten a tracking number either.

maybe its because my dad works for USPS and we get discount?

even still why would they pick USPS :o

If your phone is on that account, and possibly getting the discount, that could be a big part of it, and possibly something that the USPS negotiated with when they got the ediscount for employees.

man thats dumb if true, cept back when i had to get replacements for
my LG chocoloate, and Voyager they sent UPS... wierd.
 
I was just on the phone with Verizon for about 45 minutes trying to purchase a DI for my fiancee (ordered one for me, now she wants one -- go figure). Spoke with one of the nicest and most informative CSR reps I've ever had answer the phone. Granted, he was only able to go off of the info that he had in front of him but he was able to save me some cash, informed me of a few Android apps that I found truly Incredible (Swype, SureMMS), and went out of his way to do everything that he could to assist me. Sorry if this post seems superfluous but I just wanted to post a great experience with Verizon Customer Service.

Verizon may have made this pre-order deal a little frustrating (not to mention the waiting for the phone release dates -- that sucked!) but the people that they have working for them are truly... wait for it... Incredible. :)

For those concerned about missing FedEx delivery. I have spoken to their CSR and since the package is indirect signature required you can leave a note with FedEx Delivery Please leave my package (tracking#) at (insert place) Thank You

And they will leave it. This is no guarantee and might be stolen but this is what I was told by Customer service at 1.800.463.3339

I just talked with a FedEx rep and they told me that they will not leave the package if you are not home even if you had a signature and tracking number somewhere at your property/house. They will only do this on the second attempt (which is the next business day). You can, however, arrange to pick it up at a store. You will need a government issued ID that states you live at that address.

Ahhh, I love to just sit back and watch the anxiety on here with all the pre-ordering.. My local store already has mine put to the side and will pick up at 9am Thurs.. No worries, no charges to my debit/credit card, all accessories already in store and ready to purchase.. Simply perfect :cool:

When you get the Fedex tracking info for the order there will a small ? after the "indirect order" line. Click on that and it will explain the policy.

This is the policy for indirect signature (according to the tracking page)

"FedEx obtains a signature from someone at the delivery address; from a neighbor, building manager or someone at a neighboring address; or the recipient can also leave a FedEx Door Tag authorizing release of the package without anyone present."
