7 Incredibles for 7 days left!!! :D

hey green lantern b4 u got ur incredible did u ever check your order status on the verizon site? if so did it say it was about to be shipped or did u get the same message as ever1 else like waiting on phone availability or something like that

I just checked the backlog of pages I hadn't read and didnt see the answer to this. And I know more than a few people have asked about it.

Whats the deal with the 748mb of ROM that the phone shows? I dont really mind if its just 512mb but why does it show more, yet Verizon and HTC advertise only 512mb. I read somewhere that Android cant recognize more than 512mb. And I also read somewhere that the extra 236mb are from the 8gb internal memory. Obviously there is some reason, so what is it? Someone familiar with the phone and Android's workings please enlighten me! :)

Uggggggh. I just found out my final exam is on the 29th at 2 P.M.

I so hope FedEx gets to my house by 1 P.M. so I don't have to go crazy waiting till late at night to pick it up from them.

I ordered this one: Newegg.com - Transcend 8GB Micro SDHC Flash Card Model TS8GUSDHC6 a few days ago. It has great reviews and is a good brand name. The A-data has bad reviews, plus I think 16 (8+8 internal) is enough for me.

EDIT: It was only $17.99 when I bought it a few days ago. Now it is $21.99.

Hey - thanks for this suggestion. I actually headed over to amazon and got the same model for around $18 shipped. I was thinking about getting a 16, but your logic is sound as far as also having the 8 of internal to use.

Plus, people are getting some crazy 16 gb cards, yet not too many reviews about bad 8 gb cards.

Anyway, thanks - this is exactly why I love this place.

Wow... I just finished college in December. However, I had final exams when I was waiting for my BBstorm... You'll get through it man... Trust me. :p

Good luck on your Exam too!!!

I dunno what the extra 236mb is used for if it's used at all. Maybe in a future update (Froyo) more ROM will be accessible to the OS.

If that's the case than Kudos to HTC for thinking ahead!!

OT - Engadget has a massive leak from Dell!!

So far 4 phones (1 WM7 and 3 Android) and a 7" Android tablet called the Looking Glass with a Tegra 2 processor. This is the tablet I've been waiting for!!! When the Looking Glass goes on sale in November, I will get one and also purchase PDANet for Android.

The Looking Glass is the perfect size for me, with the best OS and processor.

Those all "look" pretty damn cool.

Can anybody provide some insight on whether this is true or what the deal is? I was thinking about buying a battery from Seido but may go with the official one instead now...

Are third-party cell phone battery manufacturers deceiving their customers?

Anyone contemplating a larger after-market battery should take a look at these results. They are at BatteryBoss Calls Out False Capacity Claims!
Even the 'high end' aftermarket vendors like Seido and Mugen are flat out busted. Their products failed to deliver rated capacities by wide margins.

Sample:
Seido's $49 1600mAh for N1 delivered less capacity than the stock $28 1400mAh N1 battery!

Nice heads-up Tyler, many thanx.

any word on accessories like the extended battery? I hope its available on launch day at verizon or BB.

With my stupid storm 1 I have to go to VZW to get my contacts switched over. Storm's cant upload contacts to vzw, I guess I could download them to my computer in a file format the D.I. would recongize. But, I am lazy lol. Hoping that when I go to VZW they will have the extended battery

So, any news on batteries and release time frame?

You CAN use backup assistant on your storm. I also have the storm and have done it. You can also use google sync, which is just as easy!

that thread has all you need to know. anyone else on a BB can use it too

i have finals until 8 pm on the 30th and i wont get home until late that night :(

They're all for GSM

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking very forward to the Incredible, I think my Storm knows I am disowning it, since I preordered the Incredible, it keeps shutting off at random times. Plus, I will be sticking with big red for the foreseeable future.

Plus, when my annual upgrade comes up a year from now and my Incredible is "old" and "outdated", hopefully LTE's with full Flash are on the market. I just like to see many competitors advancing the technology as it ultimately benefits us, the consumer. :)

I haven't check for MicroSD cards but www.mydigitaldiscount.com had some smoking deals on cf cards for my dslr. They might be worth a look for MicroSD cards. I used their USPS service and they shipped from NY to AZ and I had it in 4 days!

I'm had a Storm 1 replaced with a Storm 2 and it had a 16gb card with it so I'll be using that for awhile :)

Thats not toooo bad. Imagine if you have to go to a training course at work that requires you to get pepper sprayed on the 29th like I do............

Thank you. With the amount of excitement here about this phone, I could do no less. :D

So Mr Lantern... you wouldn't mind try using yxflash (its free) to try to play some xvid's and divx's would ya?

Tell us how the video playback is on them? Max resolution?? Audio sync issues?

what do you guys think about selling my ipod touch and making my Incredible my music player? I have a 16 gb card to go with it...

The Incredible's music player looks SWEET...it even has cover flow??

Dude that TOTALLY sounds like fun! I really gotta try that sometime. Tell us how it goes.

Anyone who has the Incredible: Can you please confirm...

1) There is no "stock" way to upload video (recorded with the device) to Facebook.

2) You can't install apps on the internal ROM (the 6.6 GB storage). A few reviews I've read have claimed this but I don't believe it; why else would the memory be there?

For what it's worth all....
I just checked my order status and it now has this responce.
Your order has been shipped. You can track your shipment at www.fedex.com. Your tracking number is XXXXXXXX
I check the tracking number and it comes up as being deliverd to Hope,AZ. Signed by "Signature release on file"
I do not have the phone and have not been charged. I am wondering if this is a distr center it was sent to. Has anyone else checked their status?

2. Has been confirmed by many people already. Why is it there? Well maybe they're working on a way to install apps to SDs in which it should apply to internal memory anyway--and 512MB + 8GB + 32GB > just 512MB + 32GB.

I just went there and took a look around the site. It was a couple bucks more for that Transcend card than on Amazon. I just ended up ordering from Amazon (the same Transcend 8GB class 6 card a couple other people here just got) for $21.86 including tax. Plus, I ordered one of those cigarette lighter plug chargers that you can plug a USB cable into.

Stopped by the local VZW corporate store and inquired about the demo unit. At first the sales rep played dumb and told me "Oh, I dont think we have the launch kit yet". Then I started telling HIM all about the specs and how much I was looking forward to the phone and just wanted to hold the thing. The rep, and the manager behind the counter, exchanged glances and then the manager disappeared to the back. She came out a minute later and motioned for me to come over to a podium away from the front window....and....drum roll please...she placed it on the podium and said "Well, here you go, hold it!" I looked at my wife and she rolled her eyes at my cheek to cheek grin.

It was covered in smudges, obviously from everyone playing with it in the back room. I wiped in clean and to be honest, looking at it from a book reading distance th "dots" were not at all discernable. It had the red squiggly active background and since it was not activated yet I could not browse the web to check the speed. I loved the keyboard but am indifferent about the haptic feedback. I tried the voice to text and tried "I like to eat peanut butter on pillows" and it spit out "I like to eat peanut butter on toast" The manager thought it was cool that it assumed what I MEANT to say and not what I said verbatum.

She also told me that the red color under the battery will be an optional color for the battery cover as opposed to only all black.

When I asked if I could take a picture of it she politely, yet VERY matter of factly, told me "No I can't let you do that" and took it from my hand. I guess I went a bit too far with my sneak peak.

Anyway, IT WAS AWESOME NONE THE LESS!!
I too went to a VZW store today to ask about the Incredible, the first 2 stores that I went to explained to me that the release date was on the 29th but could/would offer no further information. Finally, at the third store I went to, I was talking with a CSR and explained to her that the only phone I was interested in was the Incredible. After a couple of minutes of her and I going back and forth about the details of the phone one of her coworkers asked "which phone are you talking about?". Long story short, he went to the back and reappeared with a demo unit that was activated and let me give it a test drive. Let me just say that it is AWESOME! It is super fast browsing the web and touchscreen is ultra responsive. I have friends that have the DROID and, IMHO, this is hands down a better unit. Can't wait till next week to get my own!!!
