The concern with this device is if same LTE chip as the TB, but my Flyer just has the single core version of this Qual chip and punks my Droid 3 and Thrive for performance- REAL performance and not synthetic benchmark BS.

Will stick with Razr, unless LTE on V greatly improved over Thunderbolt. If better LTE chip, will have to at least consider the V.

The Razr is going to come with a locked bootloader if you believe the first paragraph of this link PSA: Verizon Locking Bootloaders On LTE Devices Likely Does Not Violate FCC Block C Spectrum Rules

It seems there's been some renewed interest in the subject of Block C LTE "no locking" provisions after news that the Motorola RAZR will come equipped with a locked bootloader per Verizon's request. About four months ago, I published an article on this very topic. To summarize: Verizon can basically do almost anything it wants with handsets on its network in the name of reasonable network management - subject to a few limitations and caveats.

Check out the ADR6425LVW, and how it compares with other new phones (Droid RAZR, Droid Bionic, Galaxy Nexus, etc.).

Now, benchmarks are not the end-all, be-all in terms of real world user experience, and the not as of yet released phones may not have been fully optimized when tested, meaning that their scores will improve.

The bottom line though, is that 35.70 fps on a 1280 x 720 screen is a very solid result, and this phone will indeed be able to compete with the other top dogs in terms of hardware.

IMHO on benchmarks for Android, synthetic-shmynthetic, since I only go by REAL results. For Flash content, game emulators, video codec performance, the Flyer smokes my Droid 3 (4430) and Thrive (Tegra 2). The Flyer has the SINGLE core version of the 8660.

I expect the 8660 to kick some new kind of butt and contradict the benchmarks of synthetic extrapolation. The weak spot of the Rezound may be the LTE chip. In spite of the potential goodness of real world performance of the 8660, the Thunderbolts LTE chip is a power hogging 3G/4G bouncing mess. The Bionic is better, so not all can be blamed on 45nm LTE.

I know on the Thunderbolt they attempted a few times to update the radio because it had a hard time with the 3G/4G handoffs. That explains that....

The new S4 SoC's will have a 28nm LTE modem on board. This will most likely provide the best power saving solution since everything is on the same die.

There will also be a new stand-alone 28nm LTE modem (MDM9615) for use in other applications. This will certainly improve power savings over the current 45nm options.
 
Nice find. I hope it is the Rezound and their prediction is correct. I can make it for another couple of weeks... but I can't wait much longer. My Dinc is nearly toast.

For the most part, I agree that benchmarks are not necessarily accurate when compared to real-world performance. I guess I could have been more clear about that. Without starting a Qualcomm v. TI v. NVidia debate, my point was that a lot of people seem to be of the opinion that Qualcomm cannot compete with the other two because sometimes, benchmarks are higher for supposedly similar products made by Moto and NVidia.

My experience has been similar to yours, and I have found that my Q-powered devices have given me better real-world user experience than competitor devices powered by chipsets made by other OEMs. It's interesting to see a benchmark that actually seems to bear this out.

I seem to recall reading that the Rezound will have the same LTE modem as the TB (Qualcomm MDM9600). Lets hope that the TB radio issues have more to do with the software radio file than the hardware. Unfortunately, I don't think that power efficiency will be improved without a smaller process.
 
Here is some speculation/me being bored...

What is so great about beats audio? I never really listened to the headphones before. Are they amazing or something? And is the phone supposed to have just some Beats earbuds, or is it more than that.....like is it technology in the phone?

It's speculation what it comes with until the 3rd...

the review I read of "beats" for a phone is its basically just "EQ" settings there's no "magic" happening. That said the ear buds (if included) are supposed to be "good" (not great) but probably "great" for a phone :)

The "beats" is a non-issue for me, I could care less. I like the feel of "sense" and I like a HTC, are the main factors of me comparing this along with the GN. I'm torn between them :(

Email back and tell them to grow some balls by not locking their bootloader because Verizon tells them to and THEN you'll consider ordering it....

Or, you can email them back with your credit card info and tell them they can charge it when they ship you an HTC Rezound.
