As long as you don't have clockwork and all the bloat is still on your phone you can get it I'm about 99% sure. You may get it even without the bloat, but clockwork is what stops it for sure. But I'm curious why root if not adding custom roms, kernels, etc?
for tether, i cant get highspeed internet.
did need to root with winmo 6.1
although i did flash it once or twice, so i can do it if need be.
just dont wanna at this point in time
Based on the Verizon Wireless Software Update announcement:
For step-by-step instructions on how to perform the download, please visit verizonwireless.com/fascinatesupport.
http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/samsung_fascinate_instructions.pdf
Based on the "official" instructions to update, I just tried option:
1.) OTA User InitiatedI received the InnoPath ActiveCare message:
No New Software Update AvailableI am aware that giving all Fascinate phones the ability to download the update all at one time could cause B/W issues, but they shouldn't write instructions on how to perform an OTA User Initiated update. Especially when any Fascinate user could attempt the OTA User Initiated update and they are then told no update is available.
I know it's petty, but just another log on the fire.

Yeah you went to the wrong peeps if you need info on vzw updatesI just got off the phone with Verizon tech support regarding this DL09 update, and they had no idea about it, I actually had to email them the link to the download instruction page...lol They basically said to hold tight, and they had no info about it.![]()

Excellent news if this isn't 'shopped: looks like we're skipping straight to 2.2.1 instead of fooling around with 2.2 interim versions like the other NA Galaxy S models. So this will probably ignite a firestorm but here is proof Froyo test builds are out for the SF, not sure one has been posted here yet

As for the iphone, anyone really tempted by that inferior hardware likely doesn't even know what Froyo is!
Do you guys think the Fascinate will ever get 2.3 Gingerbread?
The general consensus right now seems to be that we'll indeed get an official Froyo release from Samsung/Verizon. However thoughts on an official Gingerbread release are unknown, and thought to be very unlikely.Do you guys think the Fascinate will ever get 2.3 Gingerbread?

Has anyone contacted verizon regaurding this issue yet, I am also not being able to update this, and verizon has about two days to un**ck themselves or I am switching to an iPhone.
