Oh sure... tease away...
It was a drive by hands on so I didn't have a chance to play with it.
But the screen really blew me away...

Can you tell us more about it...did the build feel cheap? Everything you found out.... we want to know.![]()
Just held the VZW Galaxy S phone (Facinate)...
HOLY COW!!! That screen is gorgeous!!!! The device is quite thin and light.
If software matches up, this thing is gonna be killer!

Agreed !!
got to play with the Captivate(it's virtual twin on AT&T) recently and was blown away with how awesome this phone is!
The screen in absolutely amazing too!!!
great! now I'm going to have to return my X for the fascinate like I did the Dinc!

Just send me your X. I'll put in a good word and see that you get the very first Facinate![]()

No X to give, but happy to help with the early Fascinate testing ;-)

-Yes hummingbird is the best cpu/gpu combo that is out so farHonestly, the Samsung probably has the best processor of any Android phone out right now. To simply say that Qualcomm also has a 1 GHz chip out on the market is not doing the Hummingbird justice: the thing is FAST.
I've played with a Captivate and Vibrant. You could tell the speed difference between those phones and any phone that has the 1 GHz Snapdragon. Plus, the GPU capability is what, 2x better? Maybe even 4x?
The screen is beautiful and I think 4" is the sweet spot for mobile phones if you consider mobile browsing a necessity on a smart phone.
If the battery lasts as long as some Vibrant users are claiming - "one day" of moderate use with 50% left at the end of the day - then the Fascinate will be a slam dunk.
Shame about the 2 GB onboard. I can't get over that. I bet VZW did that on purpose in retaliation for Samsung "running low" on AMOLED screens.
And why now FFC? Is it because the feature would steer potential Droid X and Droid 2 buyers? Or is the iPhone 4 around the corner and VZW doesn't want Apple to worry about another phone having the same flagship feature?
Who knows?
I do know there are some morons at the helm of Verizon. Lots of stupid decisions made in the past few years.
With a late September launch, will this be the last 3G Droid for Verizon? Any other Android phones on the horizon this Fall? With the way they're fasttracking the LTE network, I'm hoping any early pre-production test units are being requested to include 4G so we have our first phone come December. I like a lot about the Fascinate, and the Galaxy S series in general, but sucks for Samsung and fans to have this phone come out so late with 4G about 45-60 days around the corner. Wonder if it will hurt sales. Seems that Verizon put the screws to Samsung on the Omnia II and they're doing the same thing here. Say what you want about HTC being the red headed stepchild compared to the favored Motorola, Samsung is the nuisance neighbor kid across the street when it comes to the smartphone line-up.
That seems to be the type of result that is application dependent. For some people it may be the best combination, for others it may not, that seems to depend on your use.-Yes hummingbird is the best cpu/gpu combo that is out so far
The SD card is great for not using up the internal memory for pictures, videos, etc. but do all apps allow them to be loaded to the user accessible SD card? My understanding is that this is not always true, especially under Android 2.1.-2GB should not be problem for MOST, as you still have the sd card slot. so with 32 + 2 = 34GB we should be happy.
As far as the chipset goes all modern phones use 1GHz Arm Cortex A8 core (as seen in Inc's Snapdragon, Droid X's OMAP 3630, Galaxy S's Hummingbird). That seems to be the type of result that is application dependent. For some people it may be the best combination, for others it may not, that seems to depend on your use.
