It depends on the app. Some will have options to access voice to text from the menu (i.e. handcent) , some will have on screen buttons (where, maps etc) other will require swapping keyboards.

The only real issue I have is that there's no way to make the keyboard hide once you don't need it anymore. Unless I missed something.

I found a swype apk online and installed it, but it said "your trial is over" before I even got to use it.
