Root Often imitated,nevr duplicated,rubix focused 1.8.6

Are there apps that I can download or do you know of a rom that is similar to this? I really like this rom and I even donated to it but I wish it had HDMI.​
 
Thanks for posting. SWEET ROM! I wiped data before noticing the success with just a cache wipe. Boy did I create so additional work, which is okay because the snow storm in Seattle turned my 30 min commute into a 2.5 hour ordeal last night. Plenty of time to reconfigure.
 
this destroyed my battery life, i have all my settings set the way i had them before rubix. 20% after about 3 hours! any ideas?
 
Much better today, full charge overclocked @1.25ghz/70 volts. Its been on for 13 hours and I'm at 50% with some heavy use/tweaking for the past 4 hours! Awesome rom
 
So I have been reading and looking at this rom or maybe apex. how do I get the black bar mod? do I have to install the 1.8.6 or go to septin's 1.8.6.black bar mod zip and get the rom and the mod?

if you want to install this rom then yes install and go to sephtins site and get his black bar mod or you can use a theme like juicemanes theme that will give you the black bar as well as changing some other stuff,,,they are both said to work great on this rom

now i know these say updated for 1.8.9 but they should be compatible with other versions of rubix focused ....1.8.9 is awesome in my opinion much better then 1.8.6 but they are all great roms:D
now if you dont want to throw a rom on there then you can either manually deodex and theme or you can use 928 black glass which will deodex and theme for you and also has a black bar mod .....the reason why i tell you to deodex first is because when you have a custom rom most come deodex therefor theres no need to deodex and you can theme right over it but if you dont have that rom that is deodex then you will have to do it yourself ....i say 928 because it kills two birds with one stone if you like that theme.....http://www.mwd.com/2010/09/droid-x-credited-with-easy-deodexodex-by-928-droid/

Thanks gmenfan83. I appreciate the response! So I think I will do the 928blackglass first before any custom rom, just trying to get my feet wet. Do I need to put this on the of the sd card? I just got root explorer do you have any tips? Thanks again.

yes download it and put it on the root of your sd card and then boot into recovery then install zip then choose zip ...select 928 and reboot ...prior to doing any of this boot into recovery and make a backup that way when and if you decide to change roms you will have a clean base to go off of.....you can do this prior to installing 928 since you wont need to be deodex since most roms pre deodex for you and you can make a backup just after the point of installing 928 so if you do run across a rom that may not be deodex you can flash that rom over 928 and be good ....also making a backup right after the point of installing 928 would be good so if you want to change themes all you do is go to that fresh 928 backup and install your theme ...do this without flashing theme after theme over one another since doing that you may have remnants of your prior theme in your new one....happy thanksgiving and happy flashing!:D
 
Ok so I download the 928 theme then go into root explorer, go to download folder and copy the zip, the what folder do I paste that zip in? Sorry im still learning. Which is the root folder or is it the systems folder or something.

how did yopu download?..if you downloaded the zip on your phone via your browser the zip will be in a folder called download.......just boot into recovery then install zip
choose zip
download
928

reboot after install
no roms or themes can be installed through root explorer they must be flashed via rom manaqger(which i personaly dont prefer and doesnt always work )or through bootstrap.....for bootstrap just go to your app drawer then select bootstrap recovery then a prompt will pop up that says success hit ok then select reboot recovery which is right below bootstrap and it will bring you into clockwork recovery where you do the instructions i put at the top of this reply
 
well i tried installing the zip directly to my phone and it say download unsuccessful! "Cannot download. The content is not supported on this phone."

which one are you trying to download?if its 1.8.9 here is a mirror link that should work and if you cant get it pm me your email if you have dropbox and i can share it with you through drop box:D

Well I tried to download any 928 blackglass zips and it kept saying cannot download. I tried a few diff links. But I did a little search and people used astro man and go into preferences and hit the allow any download by the browser option. And tried it again and wallah it worked and put it in my download folder. And it did take about 40 minutes to download.
