Root Often imitated,nevr duplicated,rubix focused 1.8.6

I love this ROM but can we install a different Keyboard??? the keys are just lil smaller than the DX stock KB... any ideas??

Yes. I use Smart Keyboard Pro with it and everything works fine.

Long press the text field to change inputs, if you didn't know.

Guys and gals, Drod updated focused and it's insanely quick and smooth. Just as Drod said, it breaks quadrant (915 on my first go). Really nice update!

Make sure to use the correct version for your blur version; there's a version of focused specifically for newly leaked version by p3droid.

1.8.9 for the OTA and 1.9.3 for p3droids new leak.

Just updated to Rubix 1.9.3.

Seems like my music players aren't working

Little help for a relative newb. I've never kept a ROM long enough to get an update. How do you install the update? Is it the same as flashing a new ROM?

Pretty much...I'll do a wipe and a fresh install..some will tell u a wipe isn't necessary, but development will tell u its recommended ..

Ok guys I have added the link for the changelogs and the 1.8.9 and 1.9.3 downloads in my op at the top of the thread....all credit goes to drod and others mentioned for their great work!

Also to get oc script to work in terminal for leakers:
Install milestone overclock.
load module
set to autoload
now you can run the script in terminal
....I have not tried this since im not on the leak....

Anyone else seeing horrible battery life with this? Flashed with a full battery and has been booted for 5 hours and im at 30%. Mild use with wifi, brightness, gps, and bluetooth off the whole time

I don't know what i did but i hit the 1.9 update just to look at it but it started downloading to my phone where is this going? but it going to take a while and i don't know how to stop it!

it's the 1.8.9

well I was thinking of getting the 1.8.6, but I never added a custom rom before, ohh wait it downloaded and my rom manager came up and it is the rom pre-installation box and say back-up existing rom or wipe data and cache? what do I do? Please advise!

just back out of it then go to your browser and downloads and clear it ...then go to whatever file manager you use and delete it from your sd

Sorry I'm a noob, just trying to learn this whole wonderful world of customizing my DX. I really would like to try rubix but I just have a lot questions. Will this install it right now? do I have to deodex or is this already? I don't have a file manager yet thinking of astro is that a good choice? everything is pretty much stock for me all I did was root then got bootstrap and rom manager. Or if you guys can think of anything right off the top to get please let me know.

I installed rubix right when i got my droid few weeks ago. I didnt deodex so you should be fine. Astro should be fine to delete the file but i would suggest getting root explorer. If you want to flash rubix you need to make a nandroid in bootstrap. after that just wipe data/cache, install from sdcard, install .zip, then choose rubix. Rubix has to be in the root of your sd. There is instructions in the op of this thread i believe. I just started flashing last week and i pretty much got the hang of it. Just look at diffrent threads and you will get it.

Astro is a great choice for a file manager. RubiX will deodex automatically I am pretty sure. Just follow instrux precisely. Oh and make sure you have a nandroid backup via clockwork recovery before doing anything!

If you run into something post it here.

I dont believe so. Thats why root explorer becomes handy. Plus if you want to move files to your system i know astro wont work.

instructions for rubix says I need to move the zip to the root of sd card? will astro let me do that?

Yes it will. It will not, however let your write to or modify /system on the phone. For that, you need root explorer. You can write to the root of your SD card with any old file manager (including stock).

so many updates. so little time. ;) I'm still waiting for more 1.8.6 themes.
