OTA Update Starting today?

I got the "Droid" notification in the early morning hours and just finished the upgrade. O'Neil in California's. The auto-complete is going crazy though, that previous sentence should have read "I'm in California."

I got my update this morning.

I still can't tell if there is a battery life improvement, but it seems like a few things scroll nicer on the screen.

Sorry for being vague, I just haven't messed with it enough since the update.

I updated my DROID today, but my music and pictures disappeared from the phone. I cannot find them in my folders neither. Did anybody had the same problem? How did you solve it?

No update here in Arizona either. I have had my Droid since day one. weird, would have thought they would push the update to the oldest Droids first. Oh well, no time to do the manual update so I will just have to wait.

You don't have 10 minutes?

Mine was ready to be updated when I woke up this AM. Started having serious problems w/ Home++ after the update. Had to go back to using the default Home screen.

Lol.

After laughing through 15 pages of this thread I've come to the conclusion that VZW isn't doing a mass release of the update because they just aquired approx. 800,000 new 2 year subscriptions as a result of the DROID being released and therefore don't want to "upset" 800,000 customers to the point of them canceling their service in the first 30 days.

Just my theory.

800,000 give or take a few.

I love when someone reply's with a smart comment to another's posting! :D

Oh, and I'll just continue to wait for my update...
In the meantime, keep up the great comedy!

I just got mine.

I immediately noticed a few things:

The lock screen layout is completely changed now.

It reminds me of the Snow Leopard update for Macs. I instantly noticed my Droid OS seems to be a lot more responsive and smoother scrolling than it did before. When going through my contact list it seems like it has no hang ups and while scrolling has a much faster refresh rate.

My apps list also no longer hangs while opening it.

I'll have to use it more in the next few days to see how it does with fixing my programs or the phone itself occasionally crashing.

If you accidentally cancel the update like I did the first time, you can get to it by hitting the "option" button on the home screen, then going to "about phone" and finally "system updates".

I received a pop up message to update my phone at 11:30pm December 10. First thing I noticed was that the main screen had a large clock with a stright slider to unlock phone, no longer curved. Also the browser was updated with easy fav button, any other text stuff.

Purchased my Droid on 12/1. Saw the update notification when I awoke at 4a.m. (It was on, attached to the charger, in its multimedia cradle.) I'm in the general Raleigh area of NC. Just installed, and now ready to play...
