Post Your Home Screen Captures

Realized i was basically a "magic smoke" wallpaper fanboy... I like it and all, it'd make a nifty screensaver for my computer, but as a wallpaper for the "minimalist utilitarian" thing i'm going for - it was counterproductive.

Dumbed it down using a stock wallpaper (for now) & swapped widgetsoid in for power control:

I'm working on some backgrounds but i'm not really sure how to deal with the contrast issue - there can't be too much "noise" behind the text, but on the other hand i don't want a visible border either. ahhhhh firstworldproblems... what would a nerd with far too much time on his hands do without them.

Then it'll be on to the icons...

^ I like that one even better than your other. Text icons would look really cool, IMO, but I'm biased toward them. :)

It's come a long way... I grew a pair and dumped my two launcherdock widgets in favor of launcherpro's "extra" two docks. i didn't want to because it only holds 5 (ok ok 10 but ya know...) rather than the 8 a launcherdock does.

Anyhoo, i compromised with the wallpaper. I was lucky enough to find/create one that is interesting, yet doesn't obscure my widgets/icons. I've made ~30 light blue/grey psychedelic color combinations of the same still and plopped them into an instance of the SlideShow Wallpaper live wallpaper app. It transitions smoothly from one funky psychedelic pic to the next - a very killer effect considering all i've given it is a few dozen stills.

Also got my icons done.

I've never done anything remotely like this before... I'm friggin addicted. I was getting a headache from staring at the phone till i cranked the screen's brightness.

If you've put that much effort into your wallpapers, have you considered sharing them? I'm going to need some royalty free wallpapers for my apk themes, and I'd love to include elements made by members here. It just makes it more personal. Just a thought...

If it weren't for a very lucky google image result i'd still be racking my brain. Amongst a bunch of image results, i saw one with a "stripe" and thought "hey, that would work !"

All i did was crop once, recolor a bunch :)

Tweaking these icons and doing this wallpaper represents about 90% of all image editing i've ever done. Sadly, im lucky, not skilled 8-D

I agree, even though he seems to be ignoring me. :p Still vote for text icons though. :)

ignoring ? what ? *looks around*

text tends to be too... wordy. :-P~~ it's all about density here in McPhoneVille. Even the wallpaper alludes to "density" albeit in a totally different manner. Speaking of which, i just realized something. *goes and fiddles*

On another note, i just noticed something odd in my screenshot. Well less odd now that i think about it. The screenshot app i was using wasn't playing nicely with the live wallpaper so i switched to a static wallpaper to take the shot. The icons in the shot are a lot more prominent in the shot than they are when i have the live wallpaper running. the color blending of the wallpaper itself looks a bit different too... weird.

I was just messing with you cause I posted a couple times about your screens and you didn't say anything til now. I understand- a lot of ppl don't like text icons. Whatever floats your boat. :)

All my shots look different than they actually do on the phone, too. Why that is I really have no idea...

bizarre ! at least i know it's not just me. i've already uninstalled the screenshot app (it sucked in at least 2 ways unrelated to shot quality). but yeah, the widgets weren't transparent in the shots that i had the live wallpaper running... flippin weird.

The idea i had with all that density chatter was to go back in and set my rows to 5 (or 6, i'm debating) to squish widgetsoid and mah clock together/higher. i tried that and reverted back when i was still using "power control" - it made it look fugly.

will it EVER stop getting better ?

Love it. Very dramatic. Is that Circle Launcher?

yes that is circle launcher

That looks really cool! cuezed, you got to tell us more about the look.

thanks.

i used launcherpro plus
