I think Trump did a great job putting Friday's footage to bed, putting his tax savings on her office and keeping her more on defense. He hasn't lost any believers, so the question remains how many is that.

^^^ I don't think we are watching the same thing. or watching through different lenses.

he did NOT answer any question directly...

the question from the Muslim lady...
frankly I don't think he understood the question... and what islamophobia means.

Proof that they fly together:

The one thing that truly pissed me off was that I spit out a mouthful of beer when he said: "you'd be in jail." That's alcohol abuse IMHO <g>. Other than that he did OK. Not enough to change the minds of hardly anyone, but at least I have plenty of smokes rolled up for later.

Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow...

Donald's great escape
: Trump’s all-out attack on the Clintons for their sexual past as he says Bill abused women and Hillary ‘attacked those women viciously’ – and she responds by calling him a liar and a racist

Second presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump has taken place in St Louis
The two candidates locked horns throughout the bitter debate, which Trump backers said he won
Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani described the night as a 'home run', for Trump in the spin room
Clinton opened saying she is concerned about 'some of the things being said and done in this campaign'
Trump said the controversial remarks he made in 2005 that were revealed Friday were 'locker room talk'
However, moderator Anderson Cooper pulled Trump up on it, saying he 'bragged' about assaulting women
Donald Trump also told Hillary Clinton that should would be in jail if he was in charge of the country's laws
The Republican also accused the moderators of being biased against him, saying it was 'three on one'
Before the debate, Trump held a press conference with women who have accused Bill Clinton of rape
The woman sat in the front row for the debate – just feet from Clinton, the woman they earlier condemned

The debate night that will be discussed for generations in Political Science classes – and Women's Studies seminars – ended with Republican Donald Trump landing more punches than Democrat Hillary Clinton, and successfully deflecting attention successfully away from a two-day-old crisis about graphic sexual language that threatened to derail his White House bid.

Clinton Spokesman To Trump: ‘Go F**k Yourself’

A foreign policy spokesman for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign had tough words for Donald Trump during Sunday’s presidential debate.

“Go f**k yourself,” Jesse Lehrich wrote on Twitter during the contentious debate.

Lehrich, a longtime Democratic operative, was responding to an exchange in which Trump said that he would not have sent American troops into Iraq and that, because of that, Army Capt. Humayun Khan would still be alive.

Warning: the actual link spells 'f**k' correctly.

I don't twitter, but I imagine mean words will be replied to with mean words. Trump could care less about "who" dies. It's all about his ego and nothing more. One has to wonder why his "following" is always so loud and angry.

Cripe, he threw his own VP under the bus tonight and the sissy praised him. Seriously?

Carl Becker, for the win.
I generally wouldn't think a lightweight question like that belongs in a presidential debate, but it was actually refreshing to hear. Take a few seconds, and say one nice thing about your opponent........

And donald certainly gave the better answer, on that one occasion.
Notwithstanding the fact that his answer made her look better than the other way around; I would honestly say he handled the question better. Both appeared a bit stunned to receive the question in the first place, and it seems unlikely that they would have prepared for it. Her answer sounded like she was disorganized and grasping at straws. And her answer sounded like pandering, definitely carried the potential to be read as insincere.
He was not wrong to see that potential, but he was wrong to point out the possibility that she was insincere. Particularly in the context of such a question. Typical passive aggressive behavior; Make enough of a comment to let the room know you're thinking something, but don't say so much you get hurt by the consequences.
His answer truly sounded like he had already thought about it, he really meant it, and it gave him the last word of the evening, let him go out on a high note.

I liked that one a LOT. He "Trumped" it. I think that's why they actually shook hands in the end.

Maybe he does have a little bit of humanity in that big fat ego of his. But then again, he offered no REAL apologies.

Still pretty much a "class act" when answering that particular question.

"Successfully" deflecting attention away from the tape reveal? Nonsense. His diversionary tactics were obvious, and clumsy. Bottom line, his defense is to say that his escapades don't count, but her *husband"s* do (since when is anybody responsible for their spouse?!). And when in doubt say "Isis" over and over.

The sniffing is also something of a tell - every time he spouts a factual whopper of a lie, he sniffs.

He had clearly been coached to dial back the bluster and shouting to try and present with more gravitas, but that's well outside his public comfort zone.

He publicly threatened to imprison HRC, his political opponent - decades of accusations and media hectoring STILL haven't come up with anything that sticks - and referred to "the" blacks and "the" Latinos in yet another example of his ingrained bias.

I am no HRC fan or apologist, but this is ridiculous. I keep waiting to find out it's been a social experiment gone horribly wrong.

Panicky GOP Leaders Should Come Home after Trump Wins Debate #2

I was disturbed so many Republican leaders deserted Donald Trump within hours of the publication of the now infamous 2005 video, though I wasn't surprised. Most politicians are cowards, prone to panic. But they didn't stop to think.

For one thing, Trump is running against (hello, planet Earth!) Hillary Clinton, whose husband did far worse than talk dirty. He did dirty—a lot of it, often in the Oval Office of the White House--and ended up being disbarred. And Hillary herself is known to have seriously harassed the very women who were victims of her husband's creepy misogynistic behavior. What a pair.

Furthermore, Trump was correct in the debate in calling Hillary a "criminal." She is, as the Wikileaks are in the process of making painfully clear, if anyone was so stupid or fundamentally dishonest (like the FBI and the Justice Department) not to see or admit already.

Why should she be responsible for her husband's actions , either marital or political? He isn't running for office on this occasion, and therefore it is entirely irrelevant.

If anything is ever proven against are as far as the emails, then I will listen. Until then, all I see is taxpayer dollars being wasted on an agenda that has very little to do with proving a crime - how many different panels and investigations have confirmed that she is in the clear? - and everything to do with political posturing.

Isn't there a rule in the US about innocent until proven guilty, or have social media and Fox rewritten that as well?!

Trial by internet.

(Edits as was typing on phone via Google Voice and it was a mess)

That's the rule, YES.
But in factual reality? Nope. [emoji88] All a woman has to do in America is ACCUSE a man of something and he goes to jail, no matter what. No proof necessary, I guarantee it. Then you have the daunting task of proving that you DIDN'T do it.. Good luck with that.
And yes, the News/Social Media has been rewriting this for years and made the greatest headway after Obama took office.
CNN should be renamed to "Clinton News Network" [emoji23]

This is from The Times (London) which is behind paywall, so copying/pasting. Libby Purves is a British broadcaster/writer who also writes for the EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE Daily Mail (or "Daily Fail") as it is usually called.

Ms Purves has no horse in this race, and therefore is IMO worth taking a little more seriously than anything we get over here. In fact, consider that The Times is owned by Murdoch, so this is coming from the SAME COMPANY that gives you Fox et al - no surprise, and interesting, that you'll find an impartial outsider's assessment is just a tad different than the swill regularly fed to the American public.

====================
The Times 10/10/16 Libby Purves

Good morning America! You now know what your Republican presidential candidate thinks about you and where his confidence stems from. “When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.” It is the Jimmy Savile theory of power relations: wealth, TV fame, high ratings, famous friends and — bingo! — you’re in. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a woman’s body you invade, or an electorate. When you want something “It’s like a magnet. I don’t even wait . . . Grab ’em by the *****. You can do anything!”

You don’t, of course, let the woman or the voter know about your breezy contempt, or that you will “move on [them] like a bitch” as soon as there’s a chance, and “try and f***” them, whether they like it or not. No. When your prey appears in person (as poor Arianne Zucker did, obediently meeting the programme’s guest in that revealing video), you just say “Nice seeing you. Terrific. Terrific.” Inwardly you’re sniggering, because moments earlier you were referring to her as “it” and whoooahhh!-ing about her legs. Not her smile — perish the thought.

Similarly, when it’s an electorate you’re perving after, you put on polite behaviour whenever you can manage it, and snivel that words of banter “don’t reflect who I am”. Donald Trump’s attempted apology for the video was the precise equivalent of boasting that he’ll suck a couple of Tic Tacs before taking a forcible kiss. Heaven forfend that the victim should be not just outraged and invaded, but made aware that your breath stinks.

Some voters, notably men of a certain age, will think it absurd for me to conflate Trump’s contempt for women with his attitude to the electorate, and bridle at the idea that he is using his wealth and telly-star status to grab America by the crotch and thrust his way into the White House. Such men will strive to play down his routine belittling of women.

He hasn’t outgrown it, whatever he says: witness his remark last year about the hostile reporter Megyn Kelly, who looked quite calm to me, having “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever”. We know what you meant, old man: menstruation! Time of the month: a woman, defined and crippled by her biology, and a bit disgusting.

Yet still some men (and indeed women) refuse to open their eyes and work out that an exploitative contempt for half the electorate — and half the human race — portends nothing good for the rest of it. It goes wider than feminist indignation: no amount of rhetorical Tic Tacs about patriotism can disguise that, but some will try. Mr Trump’s vice-presidential candidate, Mike Pence, clings on, saying he prays for Trump and hopes he will show “heart” at the debate. Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis will “hold her nose” and vote for him. Sarah Palin pays rapid lip-service to female disgust but quickly moves contumely on to the media that exposed the video (not that anyone really needed it to know Trump’s attitude to women).

Some major donors stay put. Our own Nigel Farage says that it is OK because, “you know what, he’s not running to be Pope” and it’s just “alpha-male boasting”. Not, perhaps, all that dissimilar to the late punch-up in his own party, or the explanation from Mike Hookem that in grappling, he and Steven Woolfe were “hugging each other like a pair of tarts”. That’d be female tarts, would it? Nice image.

Other alpha males know better, and can’t stick with The Donald. Paul Ryan, speaker of the House of Representatives, cancelled a platform with him; John McCain withdraws all support; Arnold Schwarzenegger, lifelong Republican and very alpha, won’t be voting for him, and alpha-plus Robert de Niro wants to punch him in the face. They know, as everyone should know, that rutting misogyny of the Trump variety really does matter. It should be a serious clue to wider tendencies. It isn’t just something that upsets hypersensitive safe-space crybabies or “rabid” feminists: it is a strong indicator of something wider and more dangerous.

Because of its contemptuous, inhumane grabbiness, it is actually — here some women will turn on me — a quantum leap worse than mere womanising. Trump and his supporters point at Bill Clinton’s far from saintly record, but Clinton is more seducer than assaulter, has expressed shame and for 40 years has stuck with — and respected — a clever, assertive, ambitious wife. Trump cites Mrs Clinton’s sharp comments about the women he cheated with: these were certainly far from kind, especially about “loony toon” Monica Lewinsky, who was young and naive, and has since comported herself with immense dignity.

But come on! Hillary Clinton was a betrayed wife, angry with women who knowingly hooked up with a married man. More dignified to say nothing, but her contempt was for what they actively did. It was mean but moral: not a Trumpish dismissal of their independent human dignity, which reduces fellow beings to an “it”, a useable piece of ass.

So the question for America is whether a man who sees half the human race as gropeable, disposable objects is safe. Safe in charge of a society, a foreign policy and a nuclear button. Misogynies matter. Laddish banter is all right in lads, for a few annoying youthful years. Regrettable, but usually curable by real encounters, snubs, collaborations and loving connections with real women. Whereas a man of 70 who still talks and thinks like a drunken teenage footballer on the pull is downright dangerous.

I agree with what you posted and must admit a beautiful intelligence behind the article. That being said in agreement with above article, this is the part that truly worries me: Hillary scares me a lot more.

8 ACTUAL HILLARY QUOTES THAT REVEAL HOW EVIL AND PSYCHOTIC SHE TRULY IS

Hillary’s actual words, with source information by Christina Plantz‎

1) “Where is the God damn flag? I want the God damn ****ing flag up every morning at ****ing sunrise”. Hillary to staff at the Arkansas Governor’s mansion on Labor Day 1991. From the book “Inside the White House” by Ronald Kessler, p. 244

(2) “**** off! It’s enough I have to see you shit-kickers every day! I’m not going to talk to you, too! Just do your Goddamn job and keep your mouth shut.” Hillary to her State Trooper bodyguards after one of them greeted her with “Good Morning.” From the book “America Evita” by Christopher Anderson, p.90

(3) “If you want to remain on this detail, get your ****ing ass over here and grab those bags!” Hillary to a Secret Service Agent who was reluctant to carry her luggage because he wanted to keep his hands free in case of an incident. From the book “The First Partner” p. 25

(4) “Stay the **** back, stay the **** back away from me! Don’t come within ten yards of me, or else! Just ****ing do as I say, Okay!!?” Hillary screaming at her Secret Service detail. From the book “Unlimited Access” by Clinton ‘s FBI Agent-in-Charge, Gary Aldridge, p.139

(5) “Where’s the miserable cock sucker?” (otherwise known as “Bill Clinton”) Hillary shouting at a Secret Service officer. From the book “The Truth about Hillary” by Edward Klein, p. 5

(6) “You ****ing idiot” Hillary to a State Trooper who was driving her to an event. From the book “Crossfire” ~pg. 84

(7) “Put this on the ground! I left my sunglasses in the limo. I need those ****ing sunglasses! We need to go back!” Hillary to Marine One helicopter pilot to turn back while in route to Air Force One. From the book ” Dereliction of Duty” p. 71-72

(8) “Come on Bill, put your dick up! You can’t **** her here!!” Hillary to Gov. Bill Clinton when she spots him talking with an attractive female. From the book “Inside the White House” by Ronald Kessler, p. 243

There it is ……..book, chapter and page…….the real Hillary Rotten Clinton!

Additionally, when she walked around the White House, NO ONE was permitted to look her in the eye, they all had to lower their heads with their eyes towards the ground whenever she walked by. Clearly she is a class act!

This ill-tempered, violent, loud-mouth, hateful and abusive woman wants to be your next President, and have total control as Commander-in-Chief of our Military, the very Military for which she has shown incredible disdain throughout her public life .

Remember her most vile comment about Benghazi: “What difference at this point does it make?”

Now it will be clear why the crew of “Marine One” helicopter nick-named the craft, “Broomstick ONE ”

But it's ok, and "just locker room talk" if a guy like Drumpf spews, screams, badgers, effs, blinds, and grabs genitals. Got it. #doublestandard #again #andagain

To dial back the sarcasm for a moment, it's the willful denial that this is happening that frustrates me. There IS a double standard at play here.

By the way, seems like there's more than a little bit of 3rd-party questionable attribution to those so-called quotes you cite above. No problem with different opinions, but let's aim for accurate and verifiable. http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/hildabeast.asp

So, withour reading every word of every post, I waxed everything from the last week. This thread is about the candidates and their positions. Any attacks on the supporters, and by extension the folks here posting in support of a candidate, are not welcome.

I am not singling anyone out, but am putting the ENTIRE thread on notice. If I see an attack on a member, on voters, on supporters points will be issued.

If this thread cannot rise above the level of decorum of the candidates itself, I will close it.

I hope that is clear.
