Questions you would like answered.

If there's little to no cost difference in plan or phone, I would say get the LTE. It's really nice to have, and you'll never want to go back to 3G. Plus if your battery is taking a hit you can always disable the LTE radio when you don't need it.

I'll be buying the phone off-contract. Well actually, it'll be my family's christmas gift to me this year :D i'm really leaning towards the LTE version now though, especially since I think my carrier will also offer prepaid 4G data plans like what they have for 3G :D

in usa.. each carrier only carries 1 version of each phone.. the only exception is with memory sizes (8, 16, 32, 64 GBs)

if a carrier has LTE available.. then the phone will have LTE.
the only exception is iphone 4S.

my vote is the LTE, no doubt.

Anybody know if the Note 2 has rounded glass edges like the Galaxy S 3?
(I'm not talking about the rounded outside corners or the bezel, rather the lateral planar glass surface being convex/concave or having 'waterfall' edges)

I don't think it does, but my searches have not been definitive.
It is an important distinction for adding accessories to this phone.

Three cheers for Mr. Ed!!!:D :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

What accessories will be available, and about how much? And as drexappeal asked, why only until the 11th?

Onlly thing I can think is that either they're anticipating being sold out of the accessories by then or they'll pull the accessories temporarily to focus on the Optimus G launch, which is the 11th? Just seems somewhat odd to me.

I dont think it has the S3 similarity on th edges though

Sprint...649 0ff contract.

Handful of accessories available from released till Nov 11

The $649 off contract makes the on-contract or off-contract choice harder.. that's not that much difference in the scheme of things. Kinda. I think.

$649 huh, ok, excuse me while I go find that saw to cut my arm and leg. lol

Actually I was expecting more.

Thanks

That off contract price has my head spinning now. Initially, I was planning on keeping the Photon to use as a dedicated media player, especially with all the accessories I have for it. Now I'm torn.

Scenario 1
- Use upgrade pay a little over $50 (due to gift cards and old phones sold) and walk away

Scenario 2
- Buy off contract, pay a little over $400, keep upgrade (assuming I can get Best Buy to match Sprint's off contract price, which has been a 'bit of a task for some people in the past)

Scenario 3
- Take the buy back price on the photon (Should still be above $200), get 2 Note 2's (1 upgrade / 1 full price off contract), pay around $560.

I like scenario 3... Then send me 1..best bud..

Scenario 1 Benefit
- Spend less now and when a new phone comes out in 6 months that has your head spinning, get it, too!

Seriously though.. I am torn now, too. If contract price was $199, that's a different story. $299 puts it just a little less than half of full price.

If I were in your shoes I would do #1. Look at that Evo you love and then imagine what 'might' come out in 6 months. Ok, going to the rumors thread for the rest of this conversation!

You guys are just horrible! I was planning to get the GS3 as soon as it get's the JB update. Now all of you have brainwashed me in to lusting for the Note 2.... How can you guys live like that?! :)

One question though? for $300 big ones, how much storage will the phone come out with?

299/300 is for 16gb as far as anyone knows.

I seem to be alone in my thoughts where others are waiting on confirmation, but IMO, we've had the confirmation (on Sprint, at least). I no longer have expectations of 32gb version (on Sprint, at least), because their fact sheet only listed 16gb. Then their press release for the phone release didn't mention any version - that tells me their fact sheet said it all. 16gb

The GS3 release listed both 16 and 32gb; then the press release for the phone release specified 16gb in store, 32gb web purchase only.

:: takes out $.02 and tosses it in ::

And oh!!! You are very welcome for brainwashing! :)
We all need a little suds on the brain every now and then!

I'm not expecting to get any higher than 16gb at this rate, lol.

My problem right now is deciding on a case. I wish we had a thread on non-magnetic cases for the Note 2 :(

Yeah, I need to get a case/holster combo too as well as a good car dock... Hopefully they will supply a car dock similar to the original note.
