I'm sorry. Thats what I meant to say. The front of the phone would have no carrier branding across all carriers. I dont know about the back.

One person asked about the S3 & the other about the Note 2.

S3: no branding on front on any carrier, back cover has carrier logo or something carrier affiliated.

Note 2 : until today we thought no carrier branding, but early pics are alway the no branded ones ( international versions ). My guess would be just as the S3, branding on back & nothing on front. I'm just not buying that the front Verizon pic released today is the finished product. If you don't want a branded back for your Note 2 just pick one up on ebay as that's what I did w/ my Verizon S3. I just has SAMSUNG on the back & nothing else.

that's really ugly...good thing i'm getting the international version. hate carrier branding.

by the way, i hear that the Note 2 will also get 2 years' free dropbox 50 gig storage. does anyone know where i can find out if my country will have it?

Don't count your chickens just yet on the free dropbox issue as that was said regarding the S3 & I'm still waiting on it.

Did you log into DB from your S3 when you got it?
I didn't know Sammy was also giving 50GB of DB storage for the GT2 7.0 but I got it when I logged in. Right away I rec'd an email from DB saying congrats.

by the way, since the GN2 will have jellybean out of the box, does this mean that i can completely replace s voice with google now? (talking about international version).

tbh, i would have gone with the next nexus device if it weren't for the s-pen

It dawned on me last night that what I find extremely annoying is this is exactly what we put ourselves thru when the first Note was announced. We waited and posted--posted and waited all for naught.
NOW we post ridiculously while waiting and waiting and waiting for that elusive release date from Sprint.
If kids don't give me grey hair this wait will. :D

Really? Did the first Note ever have reported wifi certification and further leaks like we've seen here? If it did have leaks for Sprint last year, but obviously never got released, I'll be a little worried.

But, if there were no leaks linked to Sprint, then I feel better knowing we'll be seeing it sometime in the near future.

While i agree it may give us grey hairs, I rather have little tidbits of posts relating to the Note 2 (be it Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile etc than none at all.

No it didn't. My point is we're playing the waiting game; this time for an actual release date.
Note 1 was about waiting to see if Sprint was even going to carry the phone. All we got was rumors and begging in the Sprint Community forums.

Oh, okay...that's good. Got me scared for a second...LOL. I wasn't paying attention to the leaks on the 1st Note, so I was worried that there were Sprint leaks during that one, but ultimately never made it to Sprint. I understand what you're saying now, and at least there seem to be more definitive leaks that we can feel secure that we'll be seeing it on the Now Network this time around.

Plus, Samsung is putting the pedal to the metal trying to out-do Apple, which includes trying to make their devices uniformed across all the different providers.

When Note 1 was announced it was said it was going to AT&T so we assumed after AT&T's exclusivity ended Sprint would get it. I think that assumption (rumor) started because of how well the GS2 was selling on Sprint so why not just bring the Note to the party.

You're right though--this time we do have definitive leaks which makes wondering *if* a moot point. Just a matter of when....?

This is the first time that I've ever been a little 'bit hyped about a Samsung phone. Based on my past experiences with Samsung phones, I have been a little skeptical and still remain a little guarded, but at the same time, the success of the SGS 2 seems to have driven Samsung's support (not referring to developer support, just OEM support) to step up their game significantly.

I do, however, still have my reservations about the GPS issues that have been a consistent problem I've seen with Samsung devices, but for a device like the Note 2, it seems like it'd be the right phone for me to take that chance...finally. Plus, the aftermarket support seems to be highly in Samsung's favor as compared to many of the other OEM's, so that's definitely a plus as far as "options" are concerned.

Even though people have stated their past issues with LG, this is also the first time that I'm seriously giving LG a look (w/ the Eclipse). Only thing that concerns me, if I select the Eclipse, is how much support it'll get from 3rd party vendors.

Time always seems to move so much slower, when I'm anticipating the devices I'm taking into strong consideration.

The last phone I was hyped about getting was the Photon. I didnt expect to become so incredibly bored with it in 6 mos but that's me and the lifespan of a phone.
Note 2 I'm EXTRA hyped about getting. THIS will probably be the one I keep until the Note 3 comes out.

I was really excited for the OG EVO, gaga for the Photon being a world phone and really nuts for the first Note, but this one being that it will be on Sprint, I have no words for how I feel. its beyond ecstatic.

I was hype about the Photon for sure. I liked what the LTEvo looked like and the SGS3, as well as the specs for both. But since I was willing to wait out until December, I figured Sprint had to at least finish up their year of releases in a good way. Especially after their announcement of releasing 15 LTE devices in 2012. That gave me a good indicator that there'd be a good amount of LTE devices released, prior to the end of the year (not that they were all going to be phones, but there were still enough remaining to assume a good majority would be).

Note 2 and Optimus G both look like they'll be amazing. I'm slightly leaning towards the Note 2, just because Samsung has already improved their support, while LG is still a work in progress.

I have a feeling that a LOT of people are going to go for the Note 2 and the dev community will be right on top of it. LG, like the Photon, IMO, will have very little support.
Not saying it won't have any....just very little.
The Photon was like that as well. Not many devs had one to work on.

Well I believe that the LG community has a niche spot over in xda. True, its not as big as the Samsung ones but its respectable enough just like the Photon sections.
