Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

I hate it when I really wanted to watch one single episode of Dr. Who, and it ends up being a two part episode. Really, I don't want another glass of scotch and another show, but here we go. Can't go leaving the story hanging like that; I wouldn't be able to sleep if I didn't know what happens. Rose says she is going to die, and I don't believe her.
 
I've been shouting at Samsung today. I can turn the notification off but since upgrading my Ace 2 to 4.1.2, if I plug it into my PC, it pops up some notice that I've no suitable software and suggests I need a Mac or Windows.

I'm sorry Samsung. Between Android and I'd be fairly sure embedded systems in some of your other devices, I'm fairly well convinced that you have made billions on the back of Linux. OK it may not be the most popular desktop OS but please do not pretend what has helped make you a fortune does not exist in this way.

I have been trying to find a better way to interface my E4GT with Ubuntu or Mint with little success... I use an Otterbox with my phone, so popping the micro SD card out is impractical, to say the least.
 
Maybe your solution would lie with ftp or perhaps better, sftp. For the latter, ssh droid may provide an answer. I'm not famaliar enough with the Gnome browsers but KDE's dolphin browser (which is not the Android app with the same name...) works fine.
 
I can understand that. No communication between Android and Linux is a bear.

Mint 14 would get the photos from the Nexus 4 but that was it. You couldn't find the other files to do a backup. The older Nexus S did back up.

You should hear my bank - I can't register the computer on their system. I've been asked why I don't use a standard system like the majority.

My bank only allows me to register one machine at a time... pain in the posterior.

I end up just having Dngrswife do all the banking on her laptop.

My other bank uses double verification, which is annoying because sometimes I can't remember the answers to some of their insane questions... what's my favorite tv show? I don't even watch tv! What's my favorite sea creature? Who the hell came up with these questions?
 
Not tried my bank on Andorid yet.but yes, I don't know some answers I gave to some questions.

For my favourite sea creature though, anyone else old enough to remember Flipper or for that matter of childhood animals on tv, like a certain bush kangaroo Skippy
 
I usually have a long memory, so double passwords are not a problem. The problem is that nonsense of hiding passwords. I can't type and if I can't see it, I don't know I made a mistake.

The computer register thing is to verify the computer each time you log in. Since the computer's name is an obscenity, I have trouble anyway.

The Vulcan worked at Honeywell, and they would always bounce my email from home back as "unsuitable". Since I didn't have anything objectionable in the post, it had to be the computer name. This laptop has the same name, but written so it would be accepted on a license plate.

I won't use the phone, tablet or a windows machine to do any banking. Easier to tell something to bug off in Linux.
 
Wicked storm just blew through. Lost power, and it looks like a war zone. I counted six trees on houses and three across power lines just walking around one block.

Guess I'll be eating all the ice cream tonight.
 
App developers who think you want their wallpapers!

We were taught in Photoshop classes to keep a plain all gray background. I still do on the computer.

On the cell phone, I prefer my own images as they mean something.

I just canned the paid version of Weatherbug over this.
I don't need pictures of Colorado. I like Moab, Utah!

My list goes on and on and on about how much I hate Micro-Pork's closed "stuffs" and "things"! :)

Not only that!

BUT I also hate that not too long ago at all I found out that you can't even install Micro-Pork's Windows 7 / Blista 2.0 / Vista 2.0 more than a few times because if you install it "too many times" on your computer then they refuse to reactivate your %*&^ing license!

SO NOW I have to waist my time emailing these losers so I can reinstall the operating system I paid like R1000 ******* rands for!

SO DO YOU KNOW WHAT GRINDS MY GEARS TODAY HMMMMMMMMMMM???
