Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Super Posters, The kind who demand recognition on their posting abilities. You know the kind, Look At Me!! I am an asset to the community!! Bow down to my great posting count,
Really grinds my gears down to a nub!!:p

Well, I've not seen anyone bragging on their post count in these forums, and I have to take exception to your rant because I have really high post counts in other forums; but I can agree on that I don't particularly like those who beg for thanks or likes or what have you in their signatures...

Deoderant. It either burns my pits, smells like poo, or doesn't work. But if i don't wear it, watch out!

I eat a lot of garlic :eating::D

I use one of those mineral deodorants, no perfumes or any of that other mess. Works for me fine. Once on a blue moon I'll put on Old Spice or something, but more than two days in a row, I end up with an allergic reaction.

Haha!

Almost exactly what I do! Unfortunately, the mineral deodorant falls into the "doesn't work" category, and old spice (classic is what I prefer) burns. I have found that antiperspirant is much worse than deodorant.

What's a locust? Here some are cicadas. (look like oversized house flies)
Grasshopper family has also been referred to as locusts.

Grass hopper family i think man but the huge things that swarm and wipe out square miles of crops in africa(i think?). Wife found it before it wiped out my house plants :)

There is a taco truck (a so-called"roach coach") that swings by every weekday at work, and my supervisor has gotten ill from it at least three times. The idiot still eats from it.

The one i lost was a foreign one. Theres a warning on the box not to release them because theyre not native (UK) speciese. When i worked in a pet shop we let one grow and it got huge and grew wings, freaky man :)
Id post a pic but im using the phone app and dont know how to do a "spoiler"

They are grasshopper family. The ones usually called locusts are ones that swarm and can destroy a field of crops in no time. here's one youtube video for you

Our own (UK) grasshoppers are not like that.

We had some huge grasshoppers many years ago. Between 6 and 9 inches long and they hung off the stucco on the house. The Vulcan gave the neighborhood kids a treat by blowing the bugs away with just the CO2 charge in an air pistol.

The worst ones were these:
Mormon Crickets

Thousands of them on migration, they are cannibals and eat the ones that were squashed on the road leading to more squashing. They have an unpleasant smell.

We ran into them in Dinosaur, CO. Almost dumped the bike with all the slippery spots on the road.

There's a monument to sea gulls in Utah for eating these damn bugs.

Probably a damn Scottish midge in disguise ;-)

(Yes I've been bitten by them)

Lol the scottish midge (we call em midgies) have aparently driven people to suicide. Its impossible to explain how bad a cloud of them are mate eh. My Canadian ex's mum came over to scotland for a week and we took her camping at loch lomond. I warned her about the midge and she was like "hey ive been bitten by mosquito and horse flies, im sure i can handle it. We got there at sunset and after like 5minutes she had to go hide in the car while we built a fire and put the tent up lol :D
Its not that one bite is bad, its the sheer number of them all biting at once lol :)

Those in parts of the US can counter with no-see-ums.
