But I was thinking of changing to an avatar of Skull Cowboy from the movie "The Crow".

.. I'm sure I should take that personally, but for some reason I assume you must be referring to everyone else :D

Guess you missed the self-deluding

If they want the car for parts, yes. There are rings that steal cars and sell parts on the black market.

On my Spitfire, they would have had to tow it. I used to take the rotor with me when I parked. The top had been slashed once, so I usually didn't lock it.

I'm a big fan of owning vehicles no thief would want :D
Maintenance is cheep too, when you don't do it :p

I really couldn't see why a thief would want an '04 civic to be completely honest.

Why not one of the newer cars?

But yeah I use to have a '99 Malibu. Not really sure why anybody would want this pos at all, but somebody busted my window to steal it. Thankfully I had an aftermarket alarm system inside so I guess it sent him/her running.:D

Well, how often are cars stolen?

It also has a lot to do with the maintenance costs mentioned earlier, insurance costs, and the fact that I don't care if someone wants to play chicken over a parking spot. Dings and dents are no problem.
Approx $1,000 every few years. I could spend more than that on maintenance alone for a new vehicle (and likely will for my wife's Honda Fit), not to mention repair costs are higher, license plates and tabs, etc.
