Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

What is this Prime you are speaking of

If you go to the Amazon home page there is usually a big logo that says Prime. It gives you "free" two day shipping on lots and lots of items. Its $80 a year I think. It has other benefits as well. You should look at it.

When I am in a queue behind a woman, as I was tonight, and I simply want to buy a newspaper - I have the right change - and she buys something then has to put it in one of her numerous bags which she then has to sort out and tidy up while talking about the weather with the salesperson. Completely oblivious to the queue behind her she takes 4 minutes.

*sigh* Just left from a bad day at work. That place is starting to make me miserable with the piss poor management and ridiculous policy changes.

Apparently, several other people feel the same way. That's why they are leaving. I think I'll start filling out some applications tonight.

Shame dude... :(

I am really sorry. :(

I am very lucky actually.... despite a previous claim by 1 student that I am "abusive" because I refused to let her play on the computer 24/7 and did not like her never sharing ever at all with the other children who also wanted a turn and always rotate and share it got silenced by the other youngsters very very very quickly and said I am not abusive at all - maybe too caring was what they said hahahaha!

xD

They say she is a bully and always pushing others around.

She has really changed around me though... for the better. :)

I am proud of her. :)

Anyway - I just wanted to show you that maybe you have tried really hard to please and I am glad you are leaving.

- You are a really nice guy and you deserve better.

I know in time you are gonna get that job with better people super soon. :)

I would really like some one like you working with me ... struggle sometimes to understand why people do not understand it when some one works very hard and there is all this fighting all over the place instead of constructive positive "Let's DO THIS!! :-D" kind of thing????

Ugh well I know you will do well finding a new job. :)

I think in these very difficult current times... because of "The Great Recession" things have been extremely hard to find ANY work...

People seem very stressed and unhappy.

It is a sign of hardship and it is very understandable.

Do not fear. :)

I already know. ;)

Come on!

;-)

Don't give up you! :)

Not you... pretty please?

:-)

Drives me nuts, too. You should see my friend hunting for her keys or cell phone. I use a man's wallet in my front pocket.

How do you find women's clothing that has pockets that allow that?

The issue of pockets in women's clothing, incidentally, thoroughly grinds my gears. I do NOT want to always have to carry a purse!

Whenever you take tests and you wanna go to sleep (Like today, I had an essay to write in 70 min.), but the test proctor won't let you. Thankfully since I finished my essay in 50m, Ms. Cheng (Favorite teacher and proctor!) let me go to sleep. This wolf needs his sleep. :p

Why does MLB not want a new generation of fans? AFAIK, most young kids that would be fans of these two teams are already in bed or may be able to watch an inning or two.

Hopefully, maybe, in the next day or two I'll drag my son out of bed at around 12:30 AM in the hopes he will watch the final few outs for a World Series Championship. I'm sure there are Dad's & Mom's in St. Louis thinking the same (though an hour earlier for them).

I'd much rather have him on my lap the whole time. All the incessant questions about the quirks of the game included.

Thank you for the kind words, Stinky. I really appreciate it. I'm also glad that you're making progress with that student as well. Keep it up. :)

Hey! :D

Thanks ek se. :)

She is much more "under the influence" now. ;)

The secret to my Stinkyness is this....: :D

"Never concentrate on the negatives... focus and only focus on the good the great and the awesome... for if you so desire... you are here to succeed ... because water can flow.... and water .... it can crash like 1 serious mother ******... for negatives remind you of what you are not.... and the positives remind us all of who we reallyare..."

And I listenings to these kinds of songs when I need that boost! ;)

:D

Freaking LOVE this song!!!!

ON A ROLL BRA

Back on topic - when I finish listening to music I fold my earphones up tidily and put them in my pocket.
When I get them out the next morning they are tied up in a baffling series of knots! It took me about 5 minutes to unravel it today

Ah! The age old mystery of the self-knotting cable!

I can kinda see how that might work in a pocket where there is actual movement, but I put my earphones in a sealed, hard case and it STILL happens :stupido3:

Applying Sherlock Holmes' famed dictat that "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth" I have concluded that it must be the Evil Cable Fairies.

Evil Cable Fairies. Yup I knew it all along. I need to buy some Bluetooth earbuds. Ni mess there. They are very expensive though...

I bought the MLB TV app on the Roku. Included is At Bat for Android.
While we can't watch the games live, we can get them 90 minutes after they end or anytime the next day. They get archived. I bought the app on the Roku as we don't have cable and don't want it. Neither the Vulcan or I cares for HBO and movies.

Being a fan of the original NY teams, I'm not exactly crazy about the teams in today's series. I'll go dig out the purchased copy of the 1986 WS and watch Buckner's error.

As a husband, I can honestly say that I get my fair share of purse holding. :p

I have a small all plastic spool that I wrap my earphones around before they go into my pocket.

One side of the spool is flat, but the other side curves down to meet the first side, to keep its contents in place. The spools I use originally carried wire braid for soldering, but I have seen them used to hold rubber chain for braces at the dentists office, and I am fairly certain I saw some at a major crafts store, holding specialty thread or something.

At any rate, the spool is large enough to contain all the wire, the plug, and if you place them right, hold the ear buds; and you have a tangle-fee little package.

I really don't like having to wait weeks between receiving heavy goods and getting them installed.

What do you mean back on topic? This thread is meant for everyone to vent their frustrations.

Naah shame dude - don't worry about it. :)

I think he was talking to me about how I shouldn't make some one feel better about the problems they might have at work for some strange reason or whatever doesn't matter. :)

Many people are too serious at times... this grinds my gears... ;)
