What grinds my gears is that its hard to find sweet potatoes all year long

I hate when life deals a friend a crap hand and I hate it when I don't have the words to express my feelings about said crap hand to my friends.

I hate people who don't have a antivirus for their computers. Today, they told me, a student at the lovely campus of YES, to repair the computers. CRYPTOLOCKER. WTF IS THIS ****? I'm just gonna end up installing OS X because Linux doesn't get many viruses. GRRRRRR!

Argh... what grinds my gears is when I make my kids (lol I keep saying "my" now lol! :D) some real food like I made them some cheese and broccoli soup (everyone has always LOVED it! :)) but sadly... the kids did not like it... :(

I think it was the broccoli lol but even though you can't even taste it they see vegetables as the "enemy!" heh! :D

Hey but it's all good. ;) :)

When ever I try to make them something nice and healthy like all they want is rotten unhealthy hot dogs and other rubbish that they keep asking for lol ugh le sigh. :D

I get up early and make a rather "grand" breakfast every morning.. . I Used to pack a lunch everyday too..including philly cheese steaks..even sushi! but my boys are both in middle school now..so they like to buy..:D:D they have a decent lunch program..snack shacks..salad bars, smoothie bar..NOTHING like our soggy gross middle school cafeteria...I ate sunflower seeds and french fries for lunch every day!! anyway I also usually have some sort of home made right from the oven goodie waiting when they get home from school...by the time dinner roles around no one wants some huge meal so it's the lightest meal of the day around here..
All part of my evil plan:D:D and it's worked out pretty nicely!

Hmm..."grand" breakfast, Philly cheese steak for lunch, hot late afternoon snack, light dinner, would you consider adopting me?:o

Chips on ice cream I thought I was the only one who did that

I've put salt on desserts before I quit eating them. My mother made a batch of German applesauce that was too sweet, and she salted it. That's where I got the idea. If something was too sweet, out came the salt shaker. I've put salt on pie, that applesauce, and ice cream. I finally realized I didn't care for the sweet taste and quit eating dessert.

With a sandwich - Bagel and Pita crisps are pretty good.

Since the kids left, there have been no forms of dessert in the house except the cookies the Vulcan has squirreled away. His favorite now is homemade corn bread with Nutella on it.

Don't you have an organic market where you live? Sometimes they will carry produce that other stores consider out of season. Maybe they would have sweet potatoes or yams.

BTW - sweet potato is an old nickname for an ocarina.

Technically OSX is based on BSD not Linux :)

And I don't know if being forced to use Apple's horrible UI is appropriate punishment for lack of AV. Maybe windows 8.

Well. Ubuntu is the way to go. (Ill install the gnome-fallback package for Gnome 2.)

My kids like to get school lunches now because the school has decided that Trix yogurt is a substitute for meat. Who knew sugar would be a substitute for protein, they didn't teach that when I was in school.

And for those who don't know the name Trix, it was a kids cereal brand that decided to make "healthy" food. So you get a 24 oz tube that has 20 oz of sugar, 3 oz of food coloring and an oz of yogurt.

Usually though the school will hand them Windows only software.

Wife's college did the IBM laptop program where you paid $600 per semester plus another $600 at the end to "buy" a $1000 laptop. They said the extra cost was for the schools support services. She started in 2001 and they handed her a bag with a laptop and a cat 5 cable. She looked at the Cat5 cable and asked what it was for and they said thats how you connect to the internet so she asked why she didn't need a cable like that at home (I has a $500 Aeronet wifi right after Cisco bought them in the late 90's and I could get my 40% reseller demo discount). That laptop bag from school sat on the end of the couch the whole time she was in college then was handed back to them at the end, she already had a nicer laptop with that newfangled thing called wifi. Most of the professors made students print out their work and put it in their mailbox anyway, they didn't believe in using the internet.

Well. Now I'm mixed. Oh, never mind. I just go with Windows Embedded Standard 7. (Windows Thin PC) Doesn't take as much time to install as a full on Windows install. That newfangled WiFi lol. I have to use it. I broke the Ethernet port on my laptop.

As much as I'd rather see Linux installed the un-tech masses will just says "this suck, it can't run <obscure proprietary poorly written Windows 95 era software> the 175 year old professor makes us use for class" and blame it on Linux.

That's basically how it always will go with my friends. I tell them, "ok ok. You win. Blah dee blah."

For some reason..bacon seems to be the magic potion of getting (at least my kids) to eat veggies!!! I 'd put crumbled Bacon on say..green beans...then I would slowly put less and less...now they LOVE green beans no bacon required!:) suckers!:D:D ha!

But that's clearly Linux fault!

Just like it's Windows fault that when you plug one end of any ol' cable into a PC and the other end into a mainframe, they can't immediately talk to each other - I mean: that worked in Independece Day with an alien computer, how can it not work with earthly computers?

I mean: duh!

Good thing it wasn't a mac, imagine finding an apple compatible cable.

I sound like a bacon freak I know!!LOL but.....before I became veg I used to put bacon on my ice cream too!!:D

One big reason I could never become a vegetarian (despite the fact that for a very long time I did not eat very much meat), is that they have no satisfactory substitute for bacon.

At least the Kosher folks have pastrami which, when fried up, very much resembles bacon in texture and savour.
