Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Yeah, I was the only guy in Home Ec, as well. That was eighth grade, I believe. I did learn how to sew better than some of those chicks; and I had already been cooking at home for a few years, so they didn't have a chance against my culinary skill.

Thankfully, my wife cooks just as well as I do, and her repertoire is different-- Mexican American cuisine against my Italian and American, so I am pretty set in the food department.

... and despite my dysentery diet, still twenty pounds overweight. :o

I was the only girl in my wood shop class in high school. Only thing that made me mad was that I had to fight to be in the class every year. We had a chauvinistic pig as a guidance counselor and he constantly put me in the home ec class.

Well that sounds horrible. This is the information age, girls can do pretty much everything a boy can do.

My first wife was the only girl in the auto shop. She was talented, but was always fighting the stigma of being a girl.

It didn't help that the shop teacher felt she was pretty much just a token for county-wide competition.

I can cook. I'm just not a foodie. Opening a can of soup and reading a good book is a helluva lot more interesting than a formal meal.

The idea that I can fix anything held by some friends and at times the Vulcan bugs me.

I can cook too, but uh...like you said, a formal meal is b

:ditto:

I'm basically a stand-in for my missus' childhood dolls - she claims she doesn't trust my sense of fashion, but that's so obviously a feeble excuse: like all men my age, I am a fashion icon.

Or at least, I'm sure I would be if I dressed myself.

Go to store, take picture of clothes, send to wife, receive approval or disapproval, buy or don't buy.

When my daughter constantly lies to get what she wants, her attitude, ego, and lack of respect. People keep telling me its her age, idc, i didn't raise her to be so damn disrespectful! Shes about to go live with her mother and im about to give up....

If she is a teenager, then let me assure you its normal. You will get dumber by the day until around age 25.:banghead:

I have a project due the Monday after Thanksgiving Break. And I wanted to compare the feats of the CDMA network vs. da GSM network. And I had an old iPhone 5S (GSM on AT&T Prepaid). So I hopped on over to mycricket.com and looked for an iPhone. (People in my class only use iPhones, so I might as well get a CDMA one.) I bought it from my local Cricket store. And when I got it activated, updated to iOS 7, I only got 3G. I thought I would get 4G in the more populated area of Houston. But no. I still only had 3G. Turns out the CDMA model...doesn't...support...CDMA...LTE..Band 4. :hmpf: WTF APPLE? THAT IS THE ONLY LTE BAND AVAILABLE AND YOU REFUSE IT?? GAH!

Hahaha!

:-D

Yaaaay!!!

:-D

This finally explains why I am SUCH AN IDIOT

lol :)

xD

lol I am very stupid!

:-D

But then there are those times when I am just sooo damn creepishly smart... I start go a bit.... "loopy".

:-(

And then I wish I was the most ******ed ****** (DUMBEST!!!) thing on the planet and just wish I could be loved...

To be frank I don't know why everyone thinks I am so smart?

I think I am just very unhappy because I don't feel loved... and then I am so miserable I feel like taking drugs and killing myself!

:'-(

I used to look down at people that take drugs... finally my narrow mind realises how difficult it is for some people when you have never been loved.

I am enlightened.

I am grateful for this priceless knowledge.

**** it.

Sometimes I actually do feel like I know waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too damn much... I wish I could just have the IQ of a brick...

(Little does everyone know that bricks are from another dimension that have secretly come here to over throw the loser human race and are secretly laughing their square back sides off at how PATHETIC we all are!)

:-D

Inexplicable Internet outages. Mine just went out for no apparent reason. Came back on quickly, but I have a bad feeling that it's a precursor to a real outage. (We've had six raindrops here in SoCal. That's done it before.)

First-world problem, hon.

Comcast does that to me too. One raindrop and then I'm out for like 20 minutes. And I pay for fricking 105 Blast! Residential. That crap is not cheap.

In late 2010 it actually RAINED here--I mean, days and days of real rain. At the time I still had DSL--which went out for almost THREE WEEKS. It was over AT&T's phone lines, and even AT&T themselves had flooding in their Pasadena building, so they felt for me. I have cable now, over Time Warner's cables, and I don't THINK I've had a rain-related outage since switching to cable, but the memory of three weeks without service--because of rain--still lingers...

I had like a lot of rain this month. The cable WORE OUT. hOW?! Just. What. I had to buy a new cable to fix that.

Wasn't able to use my Hulu+ service. And I like watching my anime.
