Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Okay, sowwy, my response was emotional. I didn't mean to start a political conversation here :o

Dammit, I did it again, didn't I?

I hate when I feel compelled to answer for my government.

Or when I am trying to distance myself from it...

Sometimes I wonder why I still live here.

Sometimes knowing too damn much makes me feel insane... it grinds my gears... caring like there is no tomorrow and a family that just believes no matter what I do or what I say it is never enough...

Knowing far too damn much.... grinds my gears...

Just wish sometimes I was just a super dumbass.

But this game if love... sometimes you just gotta get up... you got to get up and try..

you have got to get up... and you have got to try...

Or die trying.

You know what i really hate is when someone leaves just a freaking swallow of orange juice or anything to drink . What the heck is this dammmm man drink it all or nothing.

I see maybe half an hour of football a week on my lunch break at work; sometimes I see something on Netflix, because the wife watches it all the time. Mostly, I read.

Kindle is evil? I just noticed it supports library ebooks delivered directly to the app - I gotta try that...

Of course it's evil... it's Amazon. Kind of wish I could sync my devices with Cool Reader like I can with Kindle, though.

Hmm. Moon+ Reader doesn't read .pdb files, though. I still have a pile a legacy books from eReader.

See. This is why Android users can't have nice things.

Try digital magazines - seems like almost every one has a different system and they all want to install software. Zinio is one of the worst. I'd rather get a pdf and use Foxit.

Calibre does a decent job of converting ebook files.

With emphasis on decent. My OCD manifests itself through an irrepressible need to edit screwed up texts.

Which means I end up editing other people's books and converting them myself.

Of course, I have read the book while doing the editing...

The one upside to the fact that my eidetic memory is no longer is that I will have forgotten enough that I can reread the book a year or two afterward.

So my rant today is publishers who don't proof-read their scanned ebooks.

I'm in the same boat, or was until recently. Dress nice because I like to with clothes gotten from Salvo. Three kids. Husband left. Used food stamps to get me thru. Occasionally "splurged" even, saving up stamps for a treat every once in a while. Yes, some people scam the system. I hate that they do that, giving the rest of us a bad name.

I got my clothes, or some, at Dillards 75% off sale.. They're off season, but who cares. If i can get an $80 polo for $15.. I will splurge sometimes but not too often, if its for her birthday or Christmas yes ill get a little extra.

Most of my clothes is either unbranded, seconds or knock-off. I'm not paying equivalent $80+ for a made in China polo just because it's got some designer's logo on it.

Most of mine are too, but polos last a long time. Ive had the same dress shirt and khakis for about 7 years and a pair of polo jeans for over 10. Granted i dont wear them often, usually for job interviews or when needed, but thats saved me quite a bit of money over the years. And as a single dad, i need to save as much as i can. I do maintenance and for the most part its Dickies jeans, tshirts, socks, etc, or the cheap fruit of the loom t-shirts. Im a big guy so finding my size in thrift stores is almost nil, lol, but i did happen to find a pair of Timberland shoes for $10.

You can find store brand jeans for as low as $7 brand new. I've had some last for over 7 years or longer. The longest lasting ones are patch upon patch.

Shirts are custom made by me. Slightly more expensive, but the designs, colors, styles and logos are mine, I've pretreated the fabric, and the shirts, sweatshirts, dress shirts for the Vulcan will last 20 years or more. Won't fall apart in the first wash or shrink.

As for fashion knock off, I don't really care what the original is so why do I want the knock-off? I suppose if I really did want it, clothes-wise, I could duplicate it for myself, only. I have pattern drafting software.

I wish I had that kind of talent. My mom did, but was never able to teach me. She said you either have it or you don't. And I don't lol
