Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

OK, bad day the last 2 days at work, so I guess I'll rant.
I pay child support and it gets automatically deducted from my pay.
(Mind you I only clear around $700-$800 after taxes and child support, that's from 2 part time Jobs avg of 35-45hrs a week.)
Now the history is out of the way on with the rant.

My first job I work at 2 days a week, I had automatic deduction taken out. So then they decide to switch payroll companies, so I figured OK fine, come to find out the support wasn't deducted to my shock and surprise. So with attitude from them being frustrated they had to do extra work, they finally got it going again. Fast forward about 3 yrs down the road to 2 days ago I find out after switching payroll companies once again they again forgot child support AGAIN!

So I go into the office politely ask about getting the payment deducted again, and again I got grief and aggravation from them AGAIN! so I barked back this time.
Finally after about 20 mins it is suppose to be worked on, we will see. I was basically yelled at for trying to assist or help them out in any way I can so it could come to a quick resolve, not a pissing match.
I guess the short of it is basic simple communication is all I ask. If you tell a story tell it "all" , don't leave stuff out.
If you say you are meeting someone or going to do or meet someone, do it, and if you can't fulfill the duty or task, just say so, don't leave people hanging...... C-o-m-m-u-n-i-c-a-t-e, it's that simple.

One more short thing to go with that, it is ok to say your wrong, really it is, yet today's society would rather make up some bs answer rather than admit we're all human and yes we do and will make mistakes, so go ahead and admit when your wrong, it really is ok. I've been wrong before, isn't the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last.

OK rant over, thanks for letting me vent, I am a bit relieved but still stressed, but this to shall pass, just wish I'd hurry up :D

Actually, you don't have to use Calibre. The download contains a couple of versions and all you have to do is find the right one and send it to the other device. I used the copy marked .0001 and it worked. That has to be legit as it was included in the download.
 
Yeah, we don't want to confuse drm free content and drm removal.;) I often get books from smashwords and they are drm free.

So is Creative Commons, Manybooks, Project Gutenberg.

If you like Sci -fi Baen puts out some free ones.

I used Booksamillion since I don't use whatever B&N uses and won't buy for the Nook, and I don't want a Kindle.
 
Wow, a rant thread, heaven. Actually more like an encyclopedia. Awesome!

The other day I went to open an app that I use on occasion. Just often enough that I had pretty much learned how to use it.

I tapped the icon, and was greeted by an aesthetically pleasing creature that no longer looked anything like the app I was used to.

Okay, Joe be calm you can do this. First things first. Where is everything? Not there. No not there. Oh, here it is. What? Some if it is missing.

I can read everything, but how do I make a post?

Help file is no good. Tells me how to do it the old way. I'll type the question on the search line. Same thing, tells me how to do it the old way. I'll Google it. Same thing, tells me how to do it the old way.

Hmm... what about my pictures. Ah, there they are. Okay, I want to add a picture to my picture folder for others to see. Wait a minute there doesn't seem to be a way to do it.

Okay, the folder is stored in my gallery, so I'll try a drag and drop. No ain't gonna work... Then the same three strikes listed above, and I am out.

Now, I am waiting for the help files to be updated so I can do more with this aesthetically pleasing alien than look at it.

So, I have a message for app writers who have way too much time on their hands.

If the app works I am aesthetically pleased, and if you insist on ignoring the fact that I am already happy with the way your app works, please update your help files!
 
The old Nokia crapped out and had to get the Vulcan a new phone. It ain't easy finding a flip phone today. We made it through the transition with only one panic attack - he couldn't find his contacts.

I made sure all was working before I left the TMO store.

The biggest rant is about calling his phone every 5 minutes to make sure everything worked. Then to call TMO service to block data. The flip is a PAYG data, and the phone is on my family plan. If he saw a data connection he'd have a cow since he'd have to hunt to figure out how to turn it off.

He finally read a manual, and I didn't get the plaintive call about "how do you answer the phone"

It's very easy to find a new flip phone, think you've just got to be in the right country. I'm in the UK on Monday, I'm not expecting to see many new flip phones there.
 
New here. WTH is with my Galaxy Note 3? Seems like since the update to Kit-Kat I can't automatically have my pictures or video stored on the SD card. Why install an SD card if you can't put things on it.

What am I missing?
 
I hate having to drive people around.

Even more I hate when my sister is driving. And she hates when I drive. I drive cautiously, focused on the road.
She drives with music blasting while snap chatting.

i think i ****** my exams up so basically in a nutshell ..... EVERYTHING

I am miserable and very unhappy right now.

But what really grinds my gears???

hmm.... a shitty home environment that really needs to just get off my ******* back and leave me the **** alone for God's sakes plz.

Being around them is like poison running through my veins.

Toxic fumes suffocation.

Sometimes good guys really do finish last.

Sometimes I just don't know what to believe any more i swear on my life i need to get away from here

Sorry to hear that, Stinky. I know how difficult it can be to have peace while feeling like a prisoner in his own home. And there's only so much you can take before reaching a breaking point.

A situation like that can't be allowed to last forever.
 
Pollen. No not allergies, my car... Every time I clean it, next day it's covered in pollen, when will it stop?? :thumbdown:
 
Pollen will stop when pine trees are through. We have a couple of types of pines and when the wind blows, you can see puffs of yellow coming off the trees.

Cottonwood, poplar, and aspen look like snow, but usually don't stick.
