Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

aaaaand...I just had a major hisssssssss fit temper tantrum!
SO TOTALLY IMMATURE of me and I'm a little embarrassed ....

but I feel SO much better now!:D:D Ha!

Ricers generally refer to Japanese cars. Some people mean all japanese vehicles, while I prefer to limit it to a certain stereotype....you know, the kid in your neighborhood who has a Civic with stickers, a pointless spoiler, a loud(and utterly useless for the application) exhaust that races around like he's Paul Walker.

I like the exhaust sounds - reminds me of Abarth. The Vulcan had Glasspacks on his 58 Chevy. My Spitfire kept losing the resonator, and I just had the muffler. Sounded like the Grand Prix starting up.

We usually heard the Ricer comment when on the bike from Harley riders. I'd love to see some of those Harleys try the superbike track which is dominated by Japanese/oriental bikes.

Today is my birthday... I was born June 23, 1962. 52 years. Now, sfbb - that's depressing. Especially when you're disabled, and Social Security denies your benefits twice. Yet, I still keep my chin up, and hope for the best. I can still produce, play and sing. I refuse to give up, and after nearly losing my fianc

Happy birthday, LW! Not sure why that grinds your gears but happy birthday!

What grinds my gears - what the hell ever happen to Google search?

Really Google? Seriously? Is it that freaking hard to figure out who Obi-Wan is?

The Phandroid spam, err, "news" bot constantly starting new threads in the lounge to get people to click through to the blog is annoying me lately. Can we humans have nothing?

Please voice your concerns to rob@phandroid.com - he owns the joint. :)

He listens to members and readers.

He used to have all that going to a news forum here. We found out about the change when you did.

So did AF move the subforums around or is that a setting I messed up?

I miss the Lounge being at the top.

I didn't realize they had moved it to the bottom again. I was wondering why the lounge has been so dead lately. Makes sense now.

We did that, more changes to come.

And that looks like a YouTube video to you, how exactly?

You said "Really Google? Seriously? Is it that freaking hard to figure out who Obi-Wan is?"

I showed you that it is not hard at all for Google to figure it out. :)

Perhaps using less words will improve your search.. I found your video quickly by saying "youtube obi wan first step"

That's good!:

Embedded the YouTube in your post, thank you for that.

And I know what I said.

It's called ranting. If you think that rants ought to be taken literally, more power to you.

And that search I showed that didn't work - worked last year, the year before and the year before that.

But now, it returns results for everything but Stars Wars clips.

Google search has gone down hill from all the noise.

It's that simple.

If only there was a way to, oh I don't know, post a simple picture to illustrate that point with precise clarity.

Perhaps one directed at video search, YouTube in particular, calling out a character name and quote that has typically worked in the past.

How far down this rabbit hole do you want to go, or are you simply content to declare victory by teaching me what I don't know about searching?

Sorry, did not mean to upset, just having a little fun with your post as I am unable to sleep at the moment. Good luck in your future searches

I thanked both of your posts and closed my last one with a rotflmao.

It's the rant thread my friend - I was just ranting for fun. ;) :)

Google search has gone down hill.

For nearly everything as far as I'm concerned.

Seems like it has shifted from returning what I'm looking for to now giving what they want me to see. Whether that is real or perceived, it could be bad for their business.

I've opted out of everything.

I think my results are that natural language searches have improved but keywords are a crapshoot anymore.

Cue the Google paranoia in 3... 2...
