Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Freakin' Toshiba!

Now I know why I've coastered three DVDs trying to burn an OS on-- the drive won't read any discs!

Now I have the choice of voiding my warranty (though it does expire in four days) in the hope that it's a loose cable, or call them up, bitch 'em out and send my lappy back to them, losing another week of productivity.

They'd better not charge me shipping this time. :banghead:

My village is devided by a canal. That bridge is opening for every frickin' boat!

I just got a text from my sister that she made it to Texas last night with her move, so that's good news. Yesterday was also the fifth anniversary of our mother's death.

I'm sorry Ghost, that you two couldn't be together yesterday. Did she move away or nearer by?

I was lucky with that bridge. It takes 8 minutes on average to open and close again. It's like running hurdles, from one bridge to the next

all I wanted was a nice peaceful day ALONE!! ugh....it's been anything but...and to top it off my friend has been calling me over and over ...I already spoke to her this morning...I may sound witchy...but...its always the same thing every single time...she meets some guy...she gets all psycho....guy wisens up and dumps her....every single time....I dont know what else to say to her...she wont listen to me...and she's never going to change...seriously....whenever she meets a guy I just count down the days till the drama....im sick of it...

I had a Female friend exactly the same way, i think the girl invented the word " Drama Queen "

Thanks for the sentiment, but we pretty much already said our goodbyes on the 4th of July. And she's further away now. I'm in Tennessee.

Why is it so hard to get a tech job? I have applied for:
Sprint, Best Buy, Micro Center, AT&T and now T-Mobile. Am I too young or inexperienced or something. Every one of these jobs are beginner jobs, so I don't know what I am doing wrong to not get a job.

I will not work selling big mac's every day. I WANT TO GET OUT

I wouldn't consider those tech jobs ... they are sales positions for tech products. It takes a different attitude to work sales than it does tech. If you want the sales job, you first have to sell yourself.

Severe rain. Over 16 centimeters per square meter since early this morning.

Hahaha I knew it!

Is this a job to get through college? If so, I wouldn't fret too much. We all have to pay our dues in sucky jobs. In the end it's a positive outcome that gives you some perspective looking back, as well as compassion for those who's job at McDonalds is the highest they will ever experience. The money will be doing internships or side work in your major if you're in school. That was what helped me claim 'experience' to get my current job.

However, if this is your living, then yeah, do everything in your power to get out of it and into something more enjoyable. If I had to choose between going back to Wendy's or going back to installing cabinets and building countertops, I would be in the shop all day.

EDIT: for my personal rant, I find even with 4.4.4, my old Captivate is still pretty laggy. I guess if I break my Nexus, I won't be using that phone very long before I buy another one, LOL.

Then that I must do.

I don't need this completely for anything. I just want to find a position that I enjoy, so I enjoy coming into work day to day.

However we are poor as heck here and I will be putting myself through college 100% of the way. So yeah its a good time to start making more money.

Fables and fairy tales are grinding my gears this morning.

They set up unrealistic expectations in our children and we risk eroding their trust when they realize the world doesn't work that way.

Example:
Androcles and the Lion.

A slave named Androcles once escaped from his master and fled to the forest. As he was wandering about there he came upon a lion lying down moaning and groaning. At first he turned to flee, but finding that the lion did not pursue him, he turned back and went up to him. As he came near, the lion put out his paw, which was all swollen and bleeding, and Androcles found that a huge thorn had got into it, and was causing all the pain. He pulled out the thorn and bound up the paw of the lion, who was soon able to rise and lick the hand of Androcles like a dog. Then the lion took Androcles to his cave, and every day used to bring him meat from which to live.
But shortly afterwards both Androcles and the lion were captured, and the slave was sentenced to be thrown to the lion, after the latter had been kept without food for several days.

The emperor and all his court came to see the spectacle, and Androcles was led out into the middle of the arena. Soon the lion was let loose from his den, and rushed bounding and roaring towards his victim.

The story ends:
But as soon as he came near to Androcles he recognized his friend, and fawned upon him, and licked his hands like a friendly dog.

But should end:
The hungry lion came near to Androcles, recognized his friend and ate him anyway, because THAT'S WHAT LIONS DO!

NOW we are TALKING!!!!

:-D

We will always get along you and I incredulous lunatic looking guy man. :)

Too bad there are not enough realists like you and I out there hey...?

"The pessimist says the wind will never change...

The optimist says the wind will change...

And the realist adjusts the mother ******* sails!" :D

What grinds my gears... is that everyone thinks that "everyone" is a winner... but if you don't work hard you will never win...

There are 3 kinds of people in this world...

"Those who see..

Those who see only when they are told...

... And those who do not see..."

Choose wisely... ;)

Whoa, sounds like a rough day, LW. Hope tomorrow is better. Just for the record, though, I don't think you should use those shock collars. (I'll go back to minding my own business now) :)
