Root [RECOVERY] TWRP 2.8.1.0

Flashed with Flashify... it flashed and boots, but there is no touch response, and it was displaying the incorrect time.

im not sure why it displays the wrong time at first, but for me i set the time zone setting to eastern time and it got the right time.

also, please do try a backup and restore, and if you can try to flash a rom zip. adamhos1234 reported that his ril/radio wasnt working after a flash, but others have reported that everything is fine. at this point im not sure if his phone is the only one displaying the issue or others are too, and it would help to know the general consensus to see if its on my end or his.

I've tried everything I can think of.. Flashing from apps, internal and external storage, flashing boot.IMG after ROM, wiping / not wiping...etc
What I have noticed, don't know if its significant but the boot sound is not working when I flash through twrp, or Philz.. Don't know if that could point to something not flashing or not. The shutdown sound does work.

With the same ROM.zip everything works on cwm, boot sound and service included. I have tried updated stock and debloated with same results

I am on virgin mobile if that is any significance.

I wish I could give more info but I just don't know.

I was able to do a backup and restore and install donjuro's zv4 ROM with no issues.

To amend that a little...I did not have service when it rebooted. I assume it needed to be reactivated, but couldn't get the hands free activation to trigger, probably because I'm an idiot. :P

That is the same issue I have.
No network/ radio signal

Also, I went into the phone status menu in settings and everything was listed as unknown. This was after I did ##72786# attempting to get the hands free activation to trigger, so I don't know if that might have wiped it?

Let us know if you get service:cool:

I just restored my backup for now, all is well.

You know what, I didn't flash the separate radio.zip with the ROM. Could be the problem. My battery is low right now though, tomorrow I will do a total wipe and reinstall with this and report the results.

Another thing that might be helpful... I still had TWRP recovery after installing the ROM. It's like it didn't any of the additional IMGs in the zip.

that is because as far as I can see according to the updater-script that adamhos1234 posted earlier in the thread, the rom zip isnt flashing any of those extra .img files in the zip. bg4m3r, care to upload your updater-script so i can verify if its supposed to be flashing those images on your rom zip?

I'm pretty sure we both tried the same one... donjuro's zv4 ROM.

Then I can safely say the only thing its flashing is /system based on the updater script. I didn't see anything radio related in the script that sticks out at me other than the usual symlinks and setting permissions. I wonder if its selinux related?

I don't understand then... If it isn't installing the other parts, why is it messing up the radio?

Thanks for this! I'm running TRWP now, I'll keep you up to date. I made a zv3 backup with CWM, used Flashify to install TWRP, I have a zv4 installed now, I do have to towel root every time I reboot. I'm always looking for something better... Universe, bring me a custom ROM!

I've attempted to install a ROM again, same result. Everything in Phone Status was Unknown. Tried installing donjuro's radio.zip with no change.

Was able to completely wipe the phone and restore from backup though, so no harm done. :)
