I never got a reply back.. were there two different ersions of DX froyo released? Obviously I'd want the latest version.

Only thing untoward I see on my 2.2 is a slower then normal change from portrait mode to landscape (and back again) and an occasional graphic glitch when using swype.

Hey there Droider13, I appreciate the suggestions however I found that you must be 'rooted' in the first place to use titanium backup. Do we know if koush's backup/recovery works with 2.2 yet? You also mentioned another program, universal root. Can you point me to a location for that item?

ok so 720p video recorded pefectly, and playback worked great on my droid x.

do I need to re-flash Clockwork Mod after updating to 2.2?
 
oh, and thanks for all the heads up help on the TIb as I restored everything perfectly from there (apps and all data).

no bugs to report yet on my droid x. =D

(Except WidgetLocker is a little buggy...get back to you on all that)
 
The bad part is you cant disable slider in 2.2, so if you using widget locker you'll have to slide twice....
 
I wanted to offer a quick note of thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread over the past few days. I am thoroughly enjoying my rooted froyo, and I wouldn't have had the nerve to do it without all of the great help provided here, as well as knowing how many in this community clearly have our backs when we need it. There are a few folks here who seem ready to jump in and help with just about every problem or question that comes up.

So seriously everyone, thanks.

Just turning on widget locker does it for me. Also if you don't happen to use widget locker there is an app called , oddly, nolock which can toggle it off and on.

ok... gonna expose a little ignorance here......................... AGAIN!!!!

I see that the sight to get universalroot from requires some interaction with a barcode to download it. Am I correct here and if so... I've scanned the hell out of it with my omni directional helium laser and I ain't gettin a 'save as' prompt. Suspect I am doing something incorrectly.... any hints?

What ever happen to the good 'ol days of just point and click? :)

I think you are referring to the qr code and that can be scanned with the barcode scanner app from the market

now that would be stealing, unless the one on his site is the updated version then you have to get it through the market:D

This is the one from his site but I am not sure if it is the updated version.
 
oooooh..... nope.... probably not good.... loaded universalandroot.... first it said I was already rooted.... which I already knew for sure I was not... asked if I wanted to re-root.... well hell yes I replied.... so it said 'well hell yes I will' and proceeded.... darn thing is... it failed. Had this msg...

Failed! No ~~~ Fu goo ~~~

Had I known I needed some Fu goo before hand I'd have bought a mess of it to be prepared. Anyone know where I can get this?
 
Oh now see... Droider13....pssssst..... I wasn't suggesting STEALING!!! Last time I retrieved that pgm it was free. I wasn't aware he is now charging for it. Interesting thing to note... the original I had has a larger file size then the link you provided. Could it be that it is the updated version too?

press the unroot button first then press root

yes then it may be the updated now, and yeah its all good I knew those weren't you're intentions:D

I knew he updated the one from the market but I didn't know if he updated the free one from his site, but it looks like he did
 
Just did that... failed the unroot too...

Said I "Still had the POWER!"

So I said... hmmmmmm... ok... and opened up a terminal... and typed su and it said....

"You don't have the POWER!"

I said... "yes I do... "
it said... "no you don't"
and I said... "The pgm said I do"
and it said..."you believe everything a pgm tells you these days?"

This is one damn sophisticated droid!!!
