Root [Release] Android 2.2 Froyo for the Droid X

With all these issues, sounds like I need to wait on updating my DX.

I'd assume a patched status bar (black) would count as a theme, right?

Did not wipe cache or data though ...

Rerooted using universalandroot and moved su to /xbin

Keeping my fingers crossed....

I tired deleting the file from the sdcard then putting it back on but I'm still getting the same error. Has anyone tried doing it the the bootstrap recovery?

Can somebody help out a total newbie and tell us step bt step how to back up are phone so we don't lose anything and how to download and install this update im sorry i don't fully understand it yet and don't want to mess my phone up but want to learn in a bad way.

I uninstalled the bootstrap and then tried installing the update and I'm still getting the same error. Tried installing it with bootstrap recovery and I get the same error:

e:error in /sdcard/update.zip (status 7) installation aborted.

I do since the logwrapper file is used by koush's recovery

I think it may need to be uninstalled and the logwrapper file from a stock phone replaced. I don't have the file to test the theory but that is the file that is failing assert

Click on the button at the top that says "Mount R/W"

Need to make it r/w if you're using root explorer there is a small button at the top thats says r/w or r/o press it then try again.
