Uh oh... I just used Superwipe... does that wipe Data too?
Because it said "Formatting DATA" like 3 times... >.<
Q.Q
Currently reflashing MikG 3.11 ^^

Be sure to make a nandroid backup when you are all set up.
I'll find the link on doing that if you are not familiar with it:)

Edit: better yet, here is the quote taken from post 2 of this guide thread you are in:
what are nandroid backups and why are they important? well nandroid backups are a complete snapshot of the current state of your phone. it will save everything (contacts, apps and its data, emails and text messages, and any other mods or settings you have on your rom). think of nandroid backups as a safety net. if anything goes wrong or if you change your mind on a rom you do not like, you can always go back and restore a previous nandroid backup. just remember that anytime you make any changes to your phone always make a nandroid backup.

also to save space keep only a few nandroids on your card. nandroids can be pretty big depending on the rom and what you are backing up. and you can rename your nandroid backups. just make sure not to have spaces or weird symbols in the name.

when doing a nandroid backup in amon ra, make sure to keep the first three checked then check wimax (you do not need to do this all the time.) just keep one nandroid backup with your wimax keys backed up on your computer. the rest of the time when doing nandroid backups, you can just backup the first three in amon ra. also if you have your sd card partitioned (see the Partitioning and Moving Apps to the Card section for the how to's) you should select sd ext as well. this wiil also backup all your apps.

clockwork mod will backup wimax automatically.

one of the things you can do to help keep your nandroid backups organized is to rename them. but in order to do that you have to know where to find them. in amon ra recovery they are found in the nandroid folder that is created on the sd card. in clockwork mod they are found in the clockwork mod folder. for amon ra there is a sub folder that is phone specific. mine is named: HT0CVHL01139. inside this folder is your nandroid backup. it should look like:BDES-20120323-0530.

now to rename them, you can rename them to anything that you like, just do not use any weird symbols and do not use spaces within the name. for me i usually just rename them by deleting the BDES part and insert the name of the rom it belongs to. for instance CM7-20120323-0530 could be a name of one of my nandroid backups. also if you notice the numbers correspond to date and time

Well, a nandroid is a little different than Titanium Backup.
A nandroid backup is like a snapshot of your phone current setup. Like a game save.
It will put your phone back to exactly the way it was when you restore that backup.
Your apps/data/widgets/screens/screen layouts/etc.
Now I am willing to bet that Ocnbrze just ninja'd me because as I was typing this, a popup came up on my computer saying that he responded to this thread.
So, instead of me editing my post, here is goes:

Since I have a week before I start doing Phone-y stuff again (haha)...
Is this a good card to use for SD partitioning?
Since my current one is a 16 gig. Class 2 card...
And that 32 gig Class 10 is discounted :P

Edit:
I'm so good at pasting links... T_T
Amazon.com: SanDisk Ultra 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQUA-032G-U46A: Electronics

that one is fine......i have this one:Patriot Signature 32 GB Class 10 MicroSDHC Flash Memory Card PSF32GMCSDHC10 for almost 2 years now with no issues.

I realize I'm late to the party, but I just received a reconditioned 3vo as an insurance replacement. The replacement has Android version 2.3.5, Baseband 2.15.00, Hboot 2.18 and has yet to be activated.

First question is - does the device need to be activated to complete the HTCdev unlock bootloader process?

On an unrelated note - is it common for the menu button to r lighter than the other buttons?

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!
which phone do you have again? the htc evo 4g which is the forum your in.

or do you have the htc evo 3d? if that is the case you are better posting in that forum.

or do you have the htc evo v 4g which is the evo 3d for virgin?

the only thing you can get that will be helpful from this forum is how to unlock the bootloader via HTCdev site. after that any files you download from this guide will not work.

if you do not know where the forums for the above phones are please let me know i can post the links for you.

Sorry for the lack of specificity. I have the Sprint PC36100 (EVO 4G).

Welcome bibbin!
You are in the correct forums then:D
You do not have to be activated to unlock the bootloader, nor to go fully s-off if you desire. In fact, I just rooted another Evo that also was deactivated.
Just be aware, the process will wipe the phone, so save what you must:D

I'm back~! Just to clarify, in order to move all my apps to the SD card, I should have both the cm a2sd (that moves apps restored by Titanium Backup) AND the darktremors version (that allows me to move new apps/stuff that isn't restored by titanium backup, correct?)

no cm a2sd and darktremors are pretty much the same thing. it is just that darktremors you need to flash the srcipt while cm is cooked in. once you flash dt and then restore your apps from tb, the apps will move automatically.

you will need to read the op for the rom to determine if you need to flash dt or not. some like mikg have it cooked in so all you need to do is partition your card and the apps will automatically move to the card.

hope that helps.
